Unfortunatly recently there has been a spate of totaly unaceptable post being posted by newcomers (ie: 1 post)

The Admin & Supermods are doing their best to stop these post but some slip through, if you see a post that you feel shouldnt be on K9 please report it ASAP to the Admin & Supermods so it can be removed straight away.

referance is being made to porn sites with sexual referances/pictures being posted also posting links to commercial sites.

Also, it's probably not a good idea to click on any links from new members unless you trust them

What about the racist, homophobic, sexist, over the top 'jokes' that are posted regularly by new and older members?

But as site monitors you have a responsibility to remove them, to pretend they arent there is the same as agreeing to whats being said :(

If we dont challenge unexceptable behaviour, where does that leave us??

I for one wont accept / or ignore the posts, and if they are reported you have a duty to do something about them

 the moderators are working to address this issue. There are so many new posts everyday that it isn't always easy to spot things immediately, so please continue to report anything you feel breaks board rules

Thing is i reported a homophobic 'joke' twice but it still remained

trouble is you have to click on the post to report it , so you have to read it or look at it :b

i suppose its better an adult than a child sees it first and reports it

True

Also i dont think they are removed quick enough (i know mods are busy)

Perhaps a word filter would flag up some posts...

The Admin/Mods have to be fair and although 1 member may finbd something offensive the Mods have to look at each reported post with an open mind.

We all do what we feel is right I think all the Sup0ermods have Children so look at things from several perspectives.

Posts that anyone thinks breaks K9 rules should be reported as described in the post 'How to complain'.

One problem is that we get some reports saying nothing more than 'what xyz said wasn't very nice'! - unfortunately that isn't enough information for us to do anything. Also you must remember that almost every joke is poking fun at something or someone - but there are degrees of acceptability. What one person finds acceptable another person doesn't. Generally we know by how many reports we get about a particular post as to what the overall acceptability is. The content of the post, the number of reports received together with the reason for complaint given in the reports are taken into account when the judgement is made as to whether the post should be deleted or edited. Just because a post is reported doesn't automatically mean it will get deleted.

and how would you decide what words went into the filter, what you find distasteful may not be to another for example i have only seen 1 post that i found distasteful and it was the picture of your son after his dog attack im also not overly keen on seeing pictures of dogs dressed in humans clothes which seems to be a common feature on k9 so when i see a heading that suggests that the post contains a picture of that ilk i avoid it

And I once saw a picture of some old geezer , naked, holding a hat (a big hat mind  ) over his private bits. Now how disgusting is that ? (w00t) (w00t)

Seriously though, I know that some are apt to take themselves a little too seriously, I don't like to see dogs dressed up etc I do not have a specific view on homophobia but in the final analysis, everything I have seen on here becomes acceptable when set against the strange and totally inappropriate post from a person who I would not dignify by mentioning the name of that appeared a couple of days ago. Just a thought... does the Chit Chat Zone have a part to play in all this? The post I referred to did not(I think) appear on there but some stuff might border on the inapproprite, to some anyway.

Best wishes to all, even the Spryers (w00t) (w00t)

LAMPY

im fairly open minded and i think that in this country freedom of speech is still important. so id fight to defend any persons right to have their say even though i may find it offensive/derogatory/racist/homophobic or whatever. :( if they post this kind of stuff that some folk find offensive then at least you know who they are and what they think. :- " as the saying goes, know thine enemy

ive said it before " its easier to wear slippers than to try and carpet the whole world"

The whirlwinds of revolt will continue to shake the foundations of our nation until the bright day of justice emerges. But there is something that I must say to my people who stand on the warm threshold which leads into the palace of justice. In the process of gaining our rightful place we must not be guilty of wrongful deeds.
