Choosing Pups

on choosing a pup why did u choose that particlar pup? why wud u choose a particular pup? is it the breeding? the size? u like the dog/bitch? your friends with the owners? u saw the pup and wanted it? just curious.

this is how i got all of my dogs:

1st dog ziggy marleys magic ( pigeon x teal) originally wanted a whippet as a pet this litter was up 4 sale in the yellow paper ( teal wasnt a racer she was a filed dog) anyway we bought him and ended up racing him then met molly and andy owners of pigeon. so when it came 2 our 2nd dog:

brandy hot spice ( pigeon x baileys comet) they put us in touch with denise and gary bailey who sold us her.

3rd dog jazz whizziwig (crazy cracker x ghd) we had asked andy ( tylers tornado) 4 a pup but his bitch didnt have enuf and he knew we wanted another pup and put peter in touch with malcom clark who had said litter this is when my love of scratch racing came in. all of the above dogs except ziggy peter chose not really sure why @ the time. i chose ziggy coz he was the cutest imo lol

anyway we then chose 2 breed our own with whizziwg 1st choice of stud was spellbound as we like his breeding but that wasnt 2 be and id always liked mickey mouse and he was used and we got my gorgeous boy

zak mickey whizz ( mickey mouse x whizziwig) c above 4 how we got him

next up is sam whisper whizz ( sole promise x tiger lil) we had no intention of getting another pup @ the time but we dropped a whippet news off @ mitchs house and there was sam the last one left sitting quietly who i just though awwwwwwwwwwwww :wub: when we got home we discovered we had both thought the same thing so we bought him.

next kez crackin whizz ( cracked it x cinnamon) once again hadnt planned on getting another pup but saw donna had bred and peter liked the breeding so we ended up with her.

next and lastly nikki nikki whizz ( nikitason x ghd) once again had no plans 2 have another pup but when i 1st found out about this lining i did think i wudnt mind 1 of those but put it 2 the back of my mind then 1 sun morning @ the h.cap peter & russ were talking about the litter and went on and on and on and on @ me to get one and put a word in 4 russ 2 now as ive always like nikitason anyway i gave in and we bought nikki. looking back we planned on getting ziggy, peter told me we were getting brandy, jazz i was @ work in the back of a sandwich shop when the las who worked in the shop came thru and said peters just been in and theres a pup in your kitchen when u get home lol zak was planned, kez and nikki werent lol the next one will b out of crackin whizz next year hopefully.

hope this isnt just for no ped dogs but here we go anyway ,

blue my first whippet seen litter advertised in yellow pages so went along and he basicly choose us as he came bombing up to us and wouldnt leave us litter mates didnt want to no us lol .

ollie well seen him advertised on here and once id seen a pic of him that was it he was so dam cute ,so ollie came to stay .

now tia had been looking for a bitch for a while ,but i wanted a whippet with some welsh breeding in her and my local breeder didnt have any at the time we was looking ,then outa the blue our dawn (daledog)posted pics of her litter and what do you know they had alot of the welsh breeding we was looking for inher so along came my princess ,we was intending to show her but she had pother ideas :lol:

then our poppy well you all no that story what can i say im a sucker for a cute face :wub:

that leads us to our new addition that will join us soon hopfully have wnted another for a while and we was going to breed from our tia as i would have loved a pup from her and our blue ,but decided because of recent events that tia would not be breed from now , so were now putting our blue to another bitch and we will have a little blue from this litter hopfully :cheers:

whenever i have wanted a pup i wait untill there is the breeding of two dogs i like taking place, then i ask if there is a chance of having one , best example was suprch/nch CHLOE,i knew peter&ann were having gloria lined to mickey mouse so i phone and asked and they said yes,then when she had them peter told me what the coulors were over the phone and as soon as he said there was a party coulor i said that's the one i want,and i got it :thumbsup:

so for me it's mainly breeding and a good eye and a lot of luck :luck:

how I chose IZZY and DUFFY well Tillie only had the two only planned on keeping one but chose them both :huggles: :wub:

Connor's Lass bought for £40 in 2001 - only bitch

Moany Moany bought for £60 in 2003 - only bitch

Connor's Dream/Connor's Legacy bred myself 2005

Next home bred litter 2007 - no bitches so none kept

Connor's Breeze/Connor's Red/Moany's Pleasure all home bred 2008.

Connor's Legacy was my fave (or should I say RCh Connor's Legacy eh Mum ?) and Connor's Dream was Mum's fave (complete with goofy "Connor's" tooth she inherited off her dam).

Connor's Breeze my fave, and Connor's Red Mum's fave. Then there's little Moany's Pleasure who is the only bitch.

No more litters/puppies here until at least 2011 :sweating:

Best dogs we have had we got given

lacey lastic (lacey).wait 12 months for a fawn bitch to come in were i worked and said know to a coupel but fell in love with lacey she came in in the morning and was on my sofa by 6.30 pm

Indy. after waiting nearly 2 years for taylor maid to have a litter and then they were all boys (w00t) we were told about ricky and Debbies litter and just fell for her as soon as I saw her pic at an hour old and she fawn.

Hellish (ruby).we allways liked her from the litter she was our second choice after Indy there sisters.so when she was looking for a new home ricky let her come here and shes fawn. ricky and debbie call her a BOGOF. :lol:

Forrest. we bred him and h3e was the only fawn. I can see a thread running through this lot :lol:

Picaninny (Ninny). Paulen and ken offerd us a pup from there litter and Ninny was the nautyest and i think prittyest so we picked her and guss what shes black :lol:

Darcey. we bred her oursleves there were only 2 girls in the litter both blacks so we keepd the smaler one but now shes not

so its easy for us we go for fawn then blacks and allways the prittyest after all the only race for a short time but you live with them for the rest of the lives so looks an nature are as important to us as race breeding. the only main rule we have in no brindles they just dont like me :lol:

and next pup well we have no plans for a quiet a while but you can bet it will be fawn or black allthough quiet paricl to fawn partis and tony likes blues so we might even have a change of colour :lol:

Pick something before they're born, if it doesn't happen then it's not meant to be. :thumbsup:

i had a dream last nite that i had a blue pup but cudnt think of a name 4 it 4 some reason every name i chose it didnt suit it :blink:

im not really sure how 2 answer this one as wot u look 4 in a pup wont neccasarily b wot someone else looks 4 in a pup unless u have a secret that guarnatees u r goin to get a champion? lol :lol:

Ella - Down to what Michelle & Tony picked, they chose Amber and i was more than happy with what was left.

Jude & Zig - wanted a blue & white bitch = 5 males not one of them blue & white (which blows Jacqui's theory out of the water :lol: ) was always keeping two, narrowed it down to Ziggy and kept changing my mind on the other, as Jude was my grandads fave, it had to be him.

Cara - John chose the brindle which would probably have been my choice which left me with the fawn, either would have been a good choice but could not have wished for a better bitch.

Livy - She was a spare of the moment thing, we'd just had a dog pts, hadn't even thought about buying a dog in but loved the breeding, when it was announced the litter had been born and there were 2 brindle bitches i asked Mark to phone & enquire, we more or less picked her from the pic's posted of the litter, went up to see them and she stood out. We still look at her now and comment on what a pretty little girl she is :wub:

Paddy - At the time the litter were announced we intended on having our own Chunky litter (but that wasn't to be), again he was my pick from the photo's Les posted, didn't know i would be lucky enough to end up with him, went to see the litter and Padster duly came home with us, he is the most stunning dollop of muscle in this house :- " :wub:

Hattie - had no intention of having her, i warned mark beforehand to not let me even think about it, to which he replied "if she has a black bitch with white feet we'll have it" when Lacey produced to two black bitches, it was hard to talk ourselves out of it and put it down to fate.

Tig fell asleep on my sisters lap! And she choose him from that!

I wanted Adams Way, who was a blue brindle with white legs, but Sue with Adams Mystery choose him and she had first pick, so we were left with a choice of Tig or Crackpot, dad wanted the black one i wanted Tig and my mum didnt want any lol

In the end i got my way and we got Tig :wub: I dont really know why i wanted him, i just knew i didnt want a black dog, and on the video that Tony and Yvonne made for us he was the noisiest and most lively. From that i would never pick the noisy one again lol :lol: He has not shut up since lol
