I didn't realise he had left. It was a bit of a no win situation, damned if he did, damned if he didn't leave.
My own feeling is that he wasn't as committed as the others and it showed really. He's probably glad to go.... :sweating:

It does take the shine off the whole thing though doesn't it....if the public wanted to keep him in, then so be it  The other celebrity dancers lost so far probably wouldn't have made it to the final anyway...not even Cherie. :- "

Apparently he was in the top three dancers who had spent the most time practicing, so I think he was quite committed. Coudn't believe how nasty James Jordan was on the show tonight - he said John leaving was the most selfish behaviour ever on Strictly and he should have stayed till the end. Like you say, damned if he did, damned if he didn't. I think he was trying to do the decent thing, but I did feel sorry for Krystyna who was quite tearful and could have done with a bit of a hug from him.

i feel sorry for the gen public who've spent money voting for him........yes he wasn't brilliant.......but he was cute sort off....like watching your dad/grandad........he was entertaining......and to be honest some of the pre trained dancers have such a smug look on their faces........i really don't need to see it......... let the underdog reign!!!!

Semi final tonight :D who would you like to get through to the final next week? I'd like Rachel and Tom to go through :luck: :luck:

Rachel and Lisa. I can't stand Tom

Rachel and Vincent just performed the most wonderful American Smooth. It was beautiful..... I do so hope they get through to the final.

Brendan and Lisa were good too. Lisa's quickstep was faultless and accomplished. Too difficult to choose...

:) I like Lisa - but they are all very good  Wish I could dance like that :D

Me too ... and wasn't their Argentine Tango amazing :)

woo hoo - they're all going through to the final (w00t) they looked so surprised (w00t) will make for a better final next week with three couples dancing :D

Yes I agree! They were were all very good, it will be more exciting with three couples in the final. :teehee:

Is this because of John dropping out? Seemed a little odd to me.

I think the judges have tried to ensure Tom is in the dance off by some clever marking for the girls, except they weren't that clever really, we worked it out pretty quick what would happen, and it did. I am never as wowed by Rachel as everyone else is, I know she is very good but I just don't get swept away by her. I am going to vote a trillion times for Tom next week, just to get my own back on the judges.

Rachel strikes me as someone who when handed BOB at Crufts, would smile demurely, pat her dog and exit serenely from the ring, whereas Tom would run around the ring with his shirt over his head tripping over his dog, bit like me really!!!!!

I agree that it was calculated by the judges, they wanted Tom out and it isn't really very fair when you have three left as in effect, they chose who is leaving. Inthought Tom put his heart and soul into that Jive, I will probably be voting for him too next week. Just get rid of that Snowdon woman, she is so false

Rachel and Vincent's dancing is sublime. The choreography is beautiful and intricate and the fact that Rachel masters it and excels everytime, with such poise and grace just has me in awe. They deserve to win.

Tom's performance was rather mediocre last night, and I wasn't bowled over despite his cheeky charm and bounce in the jive. It did go wrong at the end (and he admitted as much) and he did lose his boyish energy half way through. The judges were right in their scores.

Lisa's quickstep was very good too and her Argentine Tango far surpassed Tom's. Her improvement has been dramatic and she deserves credit for that. She hasn't been as popular as Tom, but by sheer determination she has turned things round.

Tom should have gone out really, but he has been given a second chance. Why not...it will make for a good final. :clown:

Oh well, we all see things differently. :- "

I think you are right Nicola in that we all see things differently. In a way if I wanted to see perfect ballroom then I would go to the Tower Ballroom in Blackpool for the UK Championships, I want to see people totally out of their comfort zone, giving their all. In the Argentinian Tango Tom wasn't dancing with the current World Champion like Rachel was and yet I thought he gave a decent performance and it is definitely harder for the men. I also think it is easy for the doe eyed girls to look good. Tom can do so much better than he did last night, it was risky to do the jive and it nearly scuppered them. I am looking forward to next week, the free dance should be interesting, maybe Tom can do a bit of tap.

Jenny

I'll be honest I want Rachel to win because I love Vincent, I think he is hilarious and a genius on the dance floor.

I really did want Austin to win, so now he is out Vincent gets my vote :D

Yes..I'm looking forward to his freedance too. :teehee: Was it the Foxtrot where he did a tap routine as his entrance? That was excellent and fun to watch and I'm sure he's saving that up for the final again. I am glad he's in next week, as he adds an element of fun. :D

But...Rachel will still get my vote I think (incl the one rolled forward  ) if she's as good next week as she was this week. :- "

I agree, Vincent is a genius on the dance floor....and it's pure delight to watch their routines.

I honestly don't think we should underestimate Lisa either. She's the wild card in all this...she's being playing catch up, and she's done well.

I think it's a tad unfair to say it's easier for the girls. I agree, they look more glamorous, but two years ago two sportsmen reached the final...not a girl in sight. It really is down to the dancing at the end of the day.

Heck..what am I going to do with my Saturday evenings when Strictly is over

RACHEL TO WIN...shes fab..i love watching her and vincent dancing

Tom and camilla second

I think Len the judge prefers Lisa to rachel...hes alway putting rachel down and Lisa can be a bit cock sure about herself

it makes you so unfit watching them...i prefer watching strictly to x factor(glad thats finished)

Yes I've wondered about Len and feel he has been a little unfair to Rachel at times. I wonder if it is because she is so good he is expecting a professional performance from her and forgetting she is a celebrity. Whatever the result next week it has certainly been entertaining this year. I have avidly watched every series up to now but feel the need to remind everyone that:
