I would like to thank Karin for her time and effort, on what sounds like has been a thankless task. I am very disappointed to see the Whippet Achives closed. A big loss to whippet lovers all over the world.

Karen

I can only echo what others have said, and hope that Karin will reconsider her decision - although I quite understand that it must have become a thankless task for her.

I am sorry The Whippet Archives has been taken off-line. Let's hope Karin feels that she can re-open it at sometime, maybe with support from people who are already well-known breed archivists, Avalonia is one such person, I wonder if there are others with such a depth of breed knowledge.

George, too, is such a person & look at the whinging & moaning he/she got for his/her efforts.

Karin, if you are reading this, I do hope you will reconsider & reinstate it. It was a valuable tool for the vast majority of us & your efforts have been greatly appreciated. Forget those who do nothing to contribute but expect it all laid out on a plate for them, they are not worth your worry.

I send you my very best wishes & enormous thanks for all you have done. On behalf of all but a very few of us, I'm on my bended knees begging you to give it back to us, just as it was: we can live with the odd error here & there which weren't even yours anyway (even the Kennel Clubs don't get it right all the time) - it takes little effort to correct them.

To those of you who have caused this tragic loss I say "Shame on you for your carping & nit picking. How about contributing to the success of TWA instead of continually finding fault?"

Gail.

It will be a great shame if it doesn't return

those that led to the site being closed down should be ashamed of themselves.

it was a usefull site, informative ect ect.

lets hope this can be resolved and that no one had an ulteria motive for getting it shut down.

Such a shame. Had some very good information and meet owners with siblings/off spring I never would of met with out the site. You always get some abuse a good site

I am on an email list where members share pedigree information with each other to update our private pedigree databases. Because some people choose to join that list and harvest information to put onto the TWA (not the dogs breeders or owners btw) many people in the end stopped posting pedigree information. The TWA in effect closed down another valuable pedigree whippet resource. So it wasn't all good.

I've had a truly hideous photo of one of my dogs put on there :) but hey I took the damn thing and allowed it to be put in the biennial. I just found some 'better' photos and put them on instead. Oddly enough the night before the TWA closed down I found yet another photo taken by me on it with copyright attributed to someone else. I know that it wasn't put on the archives by either myself or my friend who owns the dog but it was a nice photo and life's too short to be moaning about such things IMO.

It's a great shame that the archives have gone, like many other people I added my own dogs pedigrees to it. It was a very, very good idea to start it up, despite it's problems it was very useful. Damn shame and hope that it comes back. There are always those people who will set out to cause trouble with what others do especially it it's successful.

PLEASE PLEASE CAN WE HAVE THIS VITAL TOOL BACK

We have recently had Ruby lined and I spent hours pouring over the information on this excellent site in order to chose the correct sire for our next generation.

Along with info gleaned from the very learned Pennymeadow and Parkstone I was able to whittle down the contenders and would not have been able to do it without this fantastic site.

There must be some way of locking info or maybe having a few separate invigilators who would take the info supplied and enter it without every tom dick and harry able to change at will.

Or maybe a charge to enter details of new litters with a lock down on info with changes only made by applying to the invigilators first.

I dont know but there must be a way of looking at the info without being allowed to change anything.

PLEASE CONSIDER HOW TO REINSTATE THIS VITAL TOOL FOR US BREEDERS WHO NEED THIS TO CONTINUE PROVIDING WHIPPETS FOR US ALL TO LOVE
