On another forum a little while back a person had a 6 month old GSD. The dog started being violently sick one evening, when it got to about 10 oclock she phoned her vet, the vet said that unless she had 95 pounds cash he would not see the dog, they would have to bring the dog in 'normal'...
This was on another forum:

sounds like very similar problems to what you are having but with a JR.
In the second link they went to a behaviourist in Anglesey who sounds very good, don't know if...
It is awful, they are going to destroy alot of family dogs!
Just hope that it does not spread over here!

In last weeks Dog World paper in Living with Dogs by Jane Lilley someone had a Vizsla who had lots of upset tummies and was not putting on weight. She had tried everything to no avail.
She tried giving Manuka honey combined with live yoghurt, given at least half an hour before every meal. She...
I have not used a shock collar and never will.
I have never knifed anyone or shot anyone with a gun - but I can judge people who have!!
I have seen the damage done by these collars.
The Kennel Club and numerous other very educated people (along with many charities) want these collars banned...
I have worked in kennels in the past. I would say to you that if you have any doubts in your mind I would not take the offer of the job.
I would never use one of these collars. I think I know the kennels you are talking about (are you in the Lake District?).
I do not understand why she would...
I always add glucose powder to the water (you can buy it in most chemists and some supermarkets), that way they are getting some feed even in the water.
I have an old dog and last April he did not eat or drink for three days and only went out for one long wee, nearly collapsed and could hardly...
Hope your Grandad is feeling better soon. I am sure that everyone in the GSD world is sending him their best wishes.
Two GSD forums:
http://lovinggsd.com/forum
and
http://www.germanshepherdsuk.co.uk/forum/i...56593bde8da9c08
There are two forums specifically for GSD's.
http://www.germanshepherdsuk.co.uk/
and
http://lovinggsd.com
both sites have lots of information on GSD's and both have forums you can join.
There is a whippet x in many tears rescue. He is called Mobie (a bit down the page) and is currently being fostered with a Westie (at least there is a picture of him with a westie).

They don't seem to have had much interest in him...
Please put it on under a different heading!
I nearly didn't click on this because I could not stand to see any more bad pictures.
Lots of people must be missing out on seeing this photo and it is so cute!
Chi's do suffer a problem that you need to be aware of, they need lots of small feeds (every couple of hours) because they can suffer from low blood sugar levels (I think because they are so tiny).
Anyhow some under stress situations (like going to a new home) can show signs of collapse if they...
The only thing I can think of that sounds a bit like what you describe is the Tellington Touch (not sure about the spelling, sometimes just called the T Touch).
It is a type of massage that can be done to calm animals in stressfull situations.

If you go to
http://www.champdogs.co.uk/
and click on Search - Guided Search - Toy Dogs - Smooth Coated Chihuahua - Breeders, they give a list of breeders and the area the breeder is in, also gives the web site of they have one.
Hope this helps!

Have you tried your local rescue centres?
Or what about a Greyhound rescue, they always have lots of ex racing greyhounds looking for homes (and they are usually quite laid back dogs).

You could always put an advert in the Westmorland Gazette
http://www.thewestmorlandgazette.co.uk/
There might be someone who lives very near your appartment who would be happy to have your dog overnight.
