That sounds sooooo familiar. A couple of years ago Gladly went lame after a running tumble. The pain was clearly in his shoulder, and something was swelling, but the fluid was draining down into his paw. (It's something called 'gravity' I think!!! :- " ) When he went to the vet, I saw a...
Oh poor Woody. I was wondering about a little bit of cooked liver - I know he shouldn't have too much of anything as rich as that, but a little bit might just start him eating again?
I've just checked and the entry form says "I/We also undertake .... not to bring to the Show any dog which has contracted or been knowingly exposed to any infectious or contagious disease during the 21 days prior to the Show." Ok it isn't 6 weeks - that was excessive, but we all sign the...
Oh Gill, I hope he's all right.
Good luck with the gel. Gladly can keep it all in his mouth until after you think it's all gone down, and then spray it all over me and the furniture!!
I think all our entry forms say six weeks - which seems rather excessive. I must admit that it's quite a while since actually read the declaration that I blythly sign every time I enter for a show, but that's certainly what it used to say.
Maybe that's her problem - she's been on a bender!
Thanks everyone.
Harriet is definitely on the mend now. Her temperature is back to normal, and her appetite has returned, though she is still a bit shaky. She is a very independant little person and gets really cross when I carry her up and down the stairs, but she can't manage them herself yet!
I'm going to have a rant! My young dogs have brought back a virus from the show I went to on Saturday, and yesterday my old girl had a temperature of 105, and could hardly stand up - all due to a viral infection. She even refused chicken - and anyone who knows Harriet will know that she has...
The judge was Alec Mackenzie. Who was very patient with wriggly puppies :b :b
It was a lovely day - as always there. Thanks to all the SWWC committee for managing to run such a fun friendly show - and the food!! What can you say about all those wonderful cakes!!!
Oh, and the...
At the Hämeenlinna International Show in Finland on Sunday, Anna Suojärvi (Infamous) won Best Puppy in Breed with Jings (Ringmore Chapter and Verse) The judge was Anette Bystrup from Denmark.
Here's Jings at 6 months at the Whippet Club of Scotland being handled by Jordan McKinstry.
(Sorry...
Yes, I can count on my fingers.... but there have been several Nimrodel champions that were black.
Gill,
Next time I breed a green with purple spots I promise you can have one. Would you prefer a dog or a bitch, and I presume it does have to be show quality as it will be a minority colour! ;)
Those percentages seem about right - and of course if only 5% of whippets being shown are black, blue or white, then it follows that only 5% of the good ones are of those colours too. When we regularly have entries of over 200 it follows that a white, blue or black getting a CC is statistically...
