The Whippet Club have now got 'ownership' of their site back, and are working on it. It's not perfect yet, but there is a lot more on there that there was! None of the people who can access it can spend a lot of time on it as all have 'day jobs' too! :b
Yes, Dessie does place fawns when she's judging. Somewhere on here there's a picture of Gladly's fawn daughter winning a class under her! Not that Gladly and I are in the least biassed, but we thought she judged very well that day....
Just to play devil's advocate, I can think of 2 litter sisters one became a champion, one didn't win much in the ring at all. Both were bred from. The champion didn't produce much at all. Only one of her daughters was shown. The 'ugly sister' produced a champion and 2 others in the stud...
I've entered, but Ellie has chosen to come into season a month early  . The puppy is entered too, but I don't think a blue boy would really appeal - and 400 miles each way is rather a lot for a baby anyway - and it's Sunday, which means work the next day..... I think we'll just stay...
I think it was Tinstone Silver Slippers who was 2nd. Was she being handled by Pat Brown? I can't remember the rest and I was stewarding in the bitch ring!! I'll have a look tonight.
I'm not sure, but I have a feeling that an overseas judge is only approved to judge at Championship Show level in the UK if they are qualified to give equivalent awards in the breed in their home country.
Hear Hear Jax! It's lovely to be able to put faces to names. Sorry I had to rush off, but Gladly's son was in the ring and I'd have been in real trouble if I hadn't watched!
Thanks Lana, Kirslin. I'm really looking forward to it.
Kirslin. I think I've seen your plaited show leads, and I'm definitely going to get some. I used to handle one of Jennie Piper's bitches for her, and she used a beautiful fine plaited kangaroo hide lead that she brought with her when...
Gladly bruised a tooth as a puppy, after a few weeks it faded to a bluey grey. He's 6 now and still has it - I'm quite careful to keep the gum around that perticular tooth very clean. Only one judge has ever commented on it (and it's a front one, so they must all see it!), and that was someone...
Beejay, you've summed it up very well. The BSFA doesn't allow any hound to run before it is 12 months old, and you can choose your own running partner. New dogs usually have a trial first thing, and if they run well, they can compete the same day if you want. Usually it is a good idea to run...
