That is such at erribly sad story. Please let me know where you are based. My wife and I were looking to adopt a second whippet as a companion for our little 'Mouse'.
Thanks to everybody for all the help. My rescued whippet is definitely not a show whippet. Scruffy feathery tail, ears stuck up like a pharoah hound. She's gorgeuos though and I'm sure having to share a home with a pedigree whippet won't phase her at all.
My main concern was due to the fact that she is at her 'adolescent' phase and although well behaved, has not get everything quite right yet. Do you think it will make her more 'grown up' or will she lead the new one astray? I've never had two dogs before.

Do you think I should go for a boy or a girl? She adores male dogs when we are out, although she does bully them a bit. She even bullies the bigger dogs (I thought whippets were meant to be timid). She does get on with bitches as long as they like her, so I am not...
