Unwanted I think you will find that Dark Peak WAS racing 10 years ago or less. I know because she used to compete with R.Ch. Saxon Honey and she was born in August 1992, which puts her at 13 yrs old and Dark Peak is roughly the same age and Saxon Honey was nearly six years old when she won her...
There is one 40 lb bitch that nobody has mentioned and I think dominated the 40lbs Bend racing in her time and that was Dark Peak. Also, another in the 36 lbs class - Whirlpool.
Yes, Karen that is Del, out of the same litter as Saxon Honey/Saxon Honeybee who we had - then there was Saxon Cajan Music (Vernon from Cullumpton) Saxon Moth and Saxon ??? (bitches) which Brian kept himself.
This litter, which were bred out of Lulu's Vixen x Dream Vision weights varied from...
Just remember we have 2 more  i.e.
Saxon Duke and Saxon Blue both bred out of R.Sc.Ch. Saxon Honey x R.Ch Mad Return (20lbs)
Saxon Duke 42lbs Saxon Blue 38 lbs
Saxon Honey - 35/36 lbs (breeding 42 lb greyhound x Dream Vision)
Saxon Honeybee 25 lbs (same breeding)
Using greyhound bitches for breeding to small whippets has gone on for years.
USING GREYHOUND STUD DOGS IMO IS WRONG to half or quarter bred whippet bitches  :- "
Sorry Gary but I...
Gary am I correct in saying yes you bred a good litter in Come on Sue/Ernie and the others but the Sire was Come of Chief, A GREYHOUND and not a whippet,
Denise, yes you are correct that I did post under the name of "Honeybee". As regards accusing me of "calling" people on that site, My computer had been hacked" postings on the site were altered as if I had done it myself and I even witnessed somebody editing a postin my name.
Also, why did...
I am NOT on any persons "side" here but, firstly, Denise you are criticising a certain person's "grammar/spelling" on K9. I must say from what I have read on K9 there are MANY people that fall into this category i.e. bad grammar/spelling. Secondly, don't you think it is about time all this...
IMO one of the reasons Vets are charging these high prices is due to the fact that so many people have Pet Insurance. As the Vets "bleed" Insurance Companies they have to charge a non-insured person the same price.
There is no way the majority of whippet people could afford to take...
Gogo, I have to totally agree with Suzie, 7 months old is far too you to be giving a pup 150 yards hand slip. It is far better to keep to half that distance until the pup has more strength and bring her/him on gradually. I know there are a lot of people in the sport have their pups running...
Hello Joyce, sorry to hear that Charlie is not well again and has had to return to hospital. Get well soon Charlie. All the best. Joan and Michael
Paul you are correct when you say "whippet racing is not a cheap sport".
Years ago this used to be classed as a "working man's sport" and most of the racing that took place were at the Clubs. Not so many people regularly went open racing - unlike today.
I would not let the "stupid and...
Happy Birthday Geoff hope you have a good day and, of course, night - out for a meal maybe!!!!!
All the best at the Championships this weeked too.
Joan and Michael
The members have voted for this venue but there is one thing that is being overlooked and it is of great importance. Should the lovely dry/sunny weather continue and we do not have any rain and a "hose pipe ban" is in force how will the ground/track get watered!!!!!!! :(
I am not being...
I would say that the person who made such "Stupid" remarks obviously "thinks she knows it all when , in fact, she knows absolutelynothing" where greyhounds are concerned.
We love both greyhounds and whippets and have owned both. My hubby likes to attend the "trials/auctions" I only went once...
This story regarding the greyhounds is absolutely terrible and the person(s) who are involved should be NAMED AND SHAMED and let them "rot in hell".
I know that cruelty in the "greyhound world" goes on because some friends of ours runs a "Greyhound Rescue". When we were visiting them on one...
Well said Sheila - you hit the "nail right on the head" with your comments generally.
I heard this morning that part of Yorkshire were without water, owing to a serge in water supplies, which has caused burst pipes. With the weather being as it is at present (and we all love the summer...
