Well done to the winners, especially to Red Reign and Paul, who last year overcome a very serious illness. I bet he is "Over the Moon" with his dog today.
Well done to Sheila and Arthur with their Yearling, Eversay Lad. One for the future and looks like following in his father's...
We have had snow in West Midlands - 15 miles west of Hall Green/Birmingham Only about half and inch and it has nearly all thawed out now. According to the forecast though there is more to come. : (w00t)
Safe Journey to all those who have braved the weather
According to the weather forecast it will not just be "heavy traffic" being a problem but heavy snow falls coming in over night affecting most places from the Midlands upwards.
Lets hope they are wrong and everybody manages to get to Hall Green and have a great day's racing
Neil, sorry but I totally disagree with you regarding muscle injuries and using the Magneto therapy box.
There was a Bloke on T.V. only this week discussing Magneto Therapy and he said it was used for ALL sporting injuries. There are now magnets used to place on the affected area which helps...
According to the T.V. Book Sky Sports 2 is showing Open Racing from Walthamstow which features the Ladbrokes Arc. Are they covering greyhound racing from Hall Green as well!!!!!
Hello Fleesh I do hope that Blaze makes a full recovery and back racing soon.
Also, hope your Club were all kind enough to get a collection towards the your Vet Bill - sounds as though it was an expensive day's racing
All the best Joan
Jeff it is nice to read something positive on K9 regarding the Bend Championships. It is just a pity there are not a few more members out their with the same attitude/consideration as yourself.
I agree 100% with all your comments - people should be thinking positively and not...
Jeoff I can take a cutting for you if you so wish :sweating: and Jasper you couldn't afford the houses in Birmingham unless you have a money tree (w00t)
This is just to let everybody know that I am informed that a bitch pup has been found for Lynne's friends and thanks to those people who have been in touch with me/Lynne.
Joan
I have been requested by Lynne to place this advertisement on K9.
Whippet wanted, preferably Bitch, as a pet for a friend of theirs, who has recently lost their old one.
Anyone knowing of a whippet bitch requiring a pet home would they please contact either Lynne of Dave (Waldron) on 0121 552...
Whippets are like greyhounds some have "staying power" others not. To make sure your whippet has got plenty of stamina the key secret is DON'T KEEP THE WEIGHT OFF IT. IMO whippets have a "top and bottom" weight, therefore,if you start your dog off at the "correct" weight by the time it has its...
Most racing is run as weighed. Sherry as regards what you say a 30lb racing with a 50 lb and if it ran into the smaller dog there could be an injury. Quite often in the No Limits there are dogs weighing 41 lbs racing with 60lb plus No Limits so the weight difference is exactly the same which...
Well said Vicky. Has anybody noticed that most of the "moaning" has come from members up North
As has been stated the BWRA Secretary has gone out of her way to get a decent venue for the Bend Championships at a modest fee of £150.00. As there are a limited amount of venues members...
I think I am correct in saying that the BWRA does allow top ten opens at any Club and they are called "Regional" opens. It is up to the Region to decide which Club holds the open. Each Region used to be able to hold (I believe) one straight and one bend open which were given top ten status...
Well with all the CRITICS on here regarding where the opens should or should not be held, maybe it is time then to have a North and South divide.
How many North/Scottish members attend an open when it is held at Thurrock or Fordinbridge. Not many. Reason too far to travel and can't afford...
Jade, you couldn't have put it any better - I agree100% with what you have said. Why is it everything when certain people post " has to "turn into a slanging match"???????
I totally agree with what has been stated.
I always thought that the Whippet News was there to print the NEWS and advertise the racing events and NOT decide/dictate who can/can't have Classic/T.T. status etc.
