You have until dec 24 to get him neutered...I definitely wouldn't until he is at least one year old ...I know you don't have a choice in neutering but at least they are letting people wait until at least one year old ...
@excuseme his ears arent cropped he holds them right 😀on top of his head 😚
My boys are both 45kgs still get fed 3x daily instead of twice and are 2 and coming up 2 ...they are deep chested dogs so I prefer giving smaller meals 3 x daily ...as your boy is a giant breed I would be careful taking him down to 2 meals so soon ;)
We are vegetarian and feed raw ...free flow minces and nuggets by natures menu are easily used and you wouldn't know it was raw ....over use of fish oils can cause itching and dandruff too ....raw chicken wings instead of dentastix are fab too ....he is gorgeous ;)
We found this with one of ours he was a rescue at 1 yr old he was an offlead dog for 3 years ..after a few altercations with a badger and a fox he had to stay on lead whereas our other Jack who came from working stock wouldn't have hurt a fly ...I wouldn't have 2 jack Russell's again but do miss...
We have 2 deerhound boys half brothers only 4months apart Sykes is 2 and Teddy is 2 in may neither are neutered as they are too young and we dont intend to ...all my previous dogs were neutered as they were rescues ...most had quirks and i wonder if neutering them especially under 2 was the...
My mum recently adopted an older staffy with awful ears ...due to her age we didnt want to operate ...we used drops from the vets ...to no avail but bought stinky drops ...all natural and they are amazing..it maybe worth trying ..
You are right pack leadership is outdated ..I would stay clear of this so called behaviourist....
I would let your oldie on the bed but wouldn't allow the younger one ...
Could you leave the younger dog in another room at night or have a crate beside your bed for her ....
....Good for you for...
Some recommend 3% of pups body weight...I wonder if that is why there is alot of overweight dogs around ... we took our 2 in for their check up and the vet commented on how lovely it was to see pups that weren't overweight..yes he still calls them pups at 2yrs and 19 months :p:p:p
Having 2 large breed dogs and having fed raw for 20+ yrs my pups have been fed 2% of their body weight with no problems....
I always feed less or more as needed same as @excuseme ....
I think there are different rules in for pups..giving you longer to neuter etc ...it maybe worth talking to your local dog warden ....
He is gorgeous :D
