Thank you! I will be sure to read that! We really will try anything and everything. Already planning how to establish her comfort zone and work on distractions and praise. It’s good to know that what we are trying isn’t going to be counter productive. We have read so much and everyone has a...
Thanks for this reply! We actually walk her late at night or early in the morning too and in areas where there won’t be many dogs and she is a happy calm and interested dog. I guess I just felt like it was our duty to ‘make her better’ and have her excellent on street walks and at shows etc but...
Thank you so much for this info with handy visualisations (such as the spider!). I myself have anxiety so I can certainly relate to being fearful in certain situations.
We will be going back to basics with her after reading your recommendations and Joanne’s and really working on getting her...
Thank you so much for your time in reading and replying to this with so much handy info! We have read it all and will re-read a couple of times and make some notes too before heading out to try and establish her safe space (we have already noticed that she doesn’t react to some dogs when they...
Glad to hear that it cleared up and hasn’t come back. If it does make sure to immediately log any changes in diet or walking areas or detergent on the pet bed etc... That will help to eliminate what it could be.
Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone had any experience or tips for a fearful dog with reactivity issues towards other dogs..
Our 4 year old collie has always been of a fearful nature, she came from a very quiet hill farm in Wales and was fed on cornflakes and milk when weaned (the man was so so...
Our friend’s golden retriever cross red fox lab had this! It looked identical. The vet told us that it was likely an allergy of some sort and since it occurs on Rover in summer months only it’s likely to be something like long grass. It can also be food related or literally anything if it’s an...
We have used it and it’s brilliant! Our 4 year old Collie has a serious skin issue and has been dangerously ill before on several occasions but we now have it mostly under control. We use diluted hibiscrub and the non odour stinky stuff (we couldn’t hack their stinkiest one) and it has greatly...
Our lab had this problem and does occasionally have it reoccurently. We found the best way to reduce flare ups was to add vitalin muesli and or oats to his food. Bone in raw food should do the same trick. Basically upping the fibre. We found that our lab was doing very soft poos and this was...
Yuffie 4 year old Merle Border Collie, Eli 2 year old Bearded Collie x GSD, Fraser 7 year old Black Labrador
Theodore the 9 month French Lop bun
and last but not least ... Iluminada the 2 year old Pygmy Hedgehog <3
If anyone has Instagram for their pet be sure to give us a nudge and we’ll...
Hey,
Good to meet you. Our lab will eat anything but he doesn't like tripe. So all dogs are different even Labrador's can refuse food (as hard as that is to believe hehe)
