I watch Crufts on TV but it feels like a guilty pleasure. Those poor short nosed dogs, Cavalier King Charles spaniels, GSD etc... Also there are hardly any breeds where a (Crufts) winner would also be able to win any field trials.
I also dislike that the winners of the skill type events are very...
Our dogs get breakfast about 9am, after I have gone to work and OH has the house to himself. They get a big walk early afternoon and then dinner is about 6pm, we dont have the beagle anymore who nagged us if mealtime was 3 minutes late. They sometimes get treat-time at 8pm. Its fusses when they...
Honestly, the main difference seems to be the price? When you read the list of ingredients and the nutritional values on the back the differences seem to be minimal.
I've had several rescue dogs with varying levels of "interesting" behaviour. As for the ops original post, I would start by completely ignoring the dog, no talk, no touch, no eye contact; doing something like reading a book in the same room is a good way to do this. The dog isnt happy in your...
Hi Sally
As a general rule of thumb as to when to go to the vet, I think when would I have taken my kids to the GP when they were little? If they were sick a few times over 48 hours but kept water down, I presume its a bug to get over, eat bland food (rice and chicken, same as the dog!) and keep...
Oscar's Equafleece coat is at least 5 years old and is still in really good nick, so would recommend them. When its really cold he wears a fetching grey Argyle knit dog jumper underneath for extra warmth
My first dog was a rescue labrador I wanted to call Chester; on the drive home from the rescue centre my youngest daughter renamed him Jester as it was easier to say.
Thanks for the online support you gave me at the end for my poor beagle, Barry.
I still have 3 other pooches at home - Oscar the Miniature Poodle, Perl the Harrier and Splodge the Mutt. Having looked through my photos I need to take one with all 3 of them in it where Splodge is more than a...
Barry had a bad weekend, and the vet suspected liver failure or something else equally difficult to treat. To diagnose would have been a battery of tests, blood tests and skin scrapings. His quality of life and age meant it wasnt worth it so he was put to sleep today.
He had a good retirement...
Photos of my poor boy, although it looks better here than in reality! His undercarriage is very sore, and the fur on his back is the bit that is still in the best nick.
Hi
My poor leukemia riddled beagle's skin is really bad. He now looks like one of those RSPCA neglect cases where mange has been left untreated for an age but 2 months ago his coat was fine. He has been to the vets twice in the past 3 weeks.
Vet 1 gave him steriods and thought it was probably...
