Vet bedding - non slip or traditional

I use "Pro fleece" Ultimate. It is a far better quality than the basic "Vet Bed". Pro fleece has greater depth and better density than the original Vet bed. I have used it for about 37 years and would never change.

    Home made dog food

@linc100 "Created my own as I encourage everyone to do" "Please follow my lead as better for the dog". Maybe if you do not completely understand a dogs nutritional requirements, it would be best for others who also do not completely understand either , if you do not encourage everyone to...

    Home made dog food

I would suggest that following your lead may not suite all dogs as you are including brown rice and bran flakes (these are both grains that many dogs can not tolerate). You do not mention offal and bone calcium as included, and which are all part of creating a "Complete" and ballanced diet. Is...

    Relentless fleas

I find that the "Frontline" spray kills fleas on direct contact but it does not seem to have any further effect. The "Advocate" spot on, by prescription or vet administered, always works well and breaks the flea cycle. Sometimes a second treatment is required one month after the first. We do...

    Relentless fleas

When we get outbreaks that can't be solved by our favourite "Frontline" or "Effipro" (which are the same product) I always ask our vet for "Advocate" or a prescription to purchase the product online. Over the counter products often result with outbreaks that can not be effectively controlled. I...

    Skinners for non-working dogs?

Skinners is a poor choice food, it consists of a lot of various grains and chicken Meal (whatever the Meal may be). All dogs and even our oldies deserve a better quality food. I am sure the "Lilly's Kitchen" is a far better quality than "Skinners" Our dogs are not designed to eat such huge...

Maltese dog won't eat any food

Our lot love their raw food, fed uncooked it is always juicy and full of natural goodness. We have fed raw products for well over 40 years, we have never had of our dogs refuse their daily dinners. We do not use grain based kibbles or pasta meals. Their teeth sparkle, they do not smell doggy...

    nighttime incontinence

Do have a look at "Millies Wolfheart for a nice Grain Free product, (it does not have RICE in it either ) as rice is also a "Grain". They have a nice selection of meat varieties and protein levels too. You will get some good knowledgeable information from their customer services. Please be...

Looking for Tips on Managing an Excitable Leash-Puller

Diet can also affect our dogs temperaments and help to settle them. How does your pup spend his days and where. Are you at work-do you work full time, (most of us have to work these days ! ). How much of his life is stimulating with good walks and spent socializing with others? I have found a...

    nighttime incontinence

As mentioned by @JoanneF . There are medications that our vets can help our dogs with.

BC 2 year old diet advice wanted again.

All kibbles are very dry, (unless you purchase a "moist" variety) and if this is your last feed of the day it probably relates to why your dog is drinking a lot more during the evenings as you have mentioned.

    To spay now or wait

We keep all of our girls entire and we have no problems. We once had a male dog who was entire (my daughter left him with us! ) we found that we could manage him when girls were in season Of course I would spay if there were a medical reason, and I hate the idea of incontinence that can happen...

Maltese dog won't eat any food

Sorry I'm late. The dry food that our lot love when I forget to take food from the freezer is "Millies Wolfheart". I don't have time to introduce it carefully and the poo's look much the same as their Raw poo's. "Millies" have loads of different options with different meat types and protein...

    Whelping box

I have no experience of heat pads, but do make sure that the box is big enough that mum can get off the heated mat end, she herself will not need the extra heat but if a puppy should get too far away from mum in the early days it will not get cold !! How exciting, when are they due ?

Have I read your first post correctly, I believe you mention that her last feed is around 5 pm and that it is an all kibble feed. !!

As well as providing a large bowl full of tap water 24/7, we have a couple of containers outside (one at the back of the house and one at the front ) which are kept full mostly by natural rain water. The girls can choose which they drink.

Have you actually used Raw food on her or home cooked meat. Once the raw product has been cooked it's benefits and various protiens are altered and can be destroyed. Tinned products have about 80% moisture content.A Actual Raw meat (NOT cooked) is also naturally high in moisture too. I do...

    Dog seems constipated

Oooh I love the "Durham" meats and the girls do too, its quiet nice and coarse and plenty of varieties. Changing from a kibble diet to a raw will of course firm up the poo and if your girl has always had a grain based food in the past she may well be finding the firmness a bit strange to pass...

French Bulldog losing weight, vomiting and shivering.

Unfortunately there are not many of our vets that are qualified to prescribe food for our dogs! Please do consider changing your vet to another practice or even better, a Holistic vet will probably have more interest and knowledge in an appropriate food/diet that could help. Please read the...
