Avoiding wild animals on the road is almost impossible ! They have no road sense and just dash out in front of vehicles causing huge damage to lots of vehicles. Nothing to do with careless driving.
However if we come across a freshly killed deer on the side of the road it does not go to waste...
Oh "Tinytom"Wind or bad wind, PHEW.
We feed raw but do keep a bag of "Millies Wolfheart" (Forerunner) which is their lowest protein, for days that I forget to take meat from the freezer,.
We have a wind free pack, until someone manages to raid the sometimes very fatty butchers bin and "pig out"...
Does anyone like the taste of "Rocket" and why is it being added to all green leaf salads.
This seems to be a modern green leaf added to what used to be nice mellow mixed leaf salad and ruins the taste of everything. I hate it and pick out every bit that I can find before starting to eat any...
I loved our show type cockers. My first and second cockers were bomb proof, unfortunately the last one that we had did have a temperament problem and in the wrong hands she could have been quiet nasty. We worked the last two and they would retrieve off land and from water. We now have the...
It may be worth your while to check up on what hereditary problems the "Golden Retrievers have and how to avoid a badly bred puppy.
Golden retrievers develop a variety of conditions. Hipdysplasia, Elbow dysplasia, Heart conditions and disorders of the eye.
Please research further for hereditary...
Our daughter is now 44 and lives away from home. Her little dog comes to us every day when our daughter is at work, 5 days a week and goes back home with our daughter every day after work. Her pup now almost 3 years is not a problem when she comes into season (only once a year ) every 13 months...
We have a household of all girls none of them have been spayed but we would if it was a medical requirement.
I do not believe in spaying just for convenience, we have no difficulties with entire girls and do not suffer from dogs waiting around outside for any of ours to appear.
We accept this...
I started with the Show type Cockers (all golden) at the age of 17, and then we discovered the Working type in 1985 and have had these ever since..
In my experience I would say that the Working type have the better temperaments.
I did have 2 Show type that had temperament issues.
I have never...
Stop feeding all kibbles and just feed a raw diet. There are a lot of products in the kibbles some of which encourage tartar to stick to the teeth.
A raw diet in itself will be healthier and your suggestion of a raw wing each day , even better. I would suggest that 1 large wing would be very...
I dislike the harnesses, my view on these is that if your dog wants to pull it is aided by the harness. Dogs in a harness always appear to walk in front and not with their owner.
Harnesses are used for horses, donkeys, cattle, reindeer, lamas, elephants (for pulling logs), and not to forget our...
Ooh! I thought the "Butternut box was fresh, (I don't know why ! )
I think I had looked at the ingredients which appeared to be quite nice, but being cooked can destroy many of the benefits of the raw product. !!
I liked the final choice of BIB at Crufts, what a lovely dog!
The Jack Russel terrier was a bit large and overweight I thought.
Certainly nothing like the Jack Russel that I have grown up with seeing. I could not imagine him going to ground and doing a proper day's work. (A pretty dog though)
Expect your puppy teething to last until up to 8 months.
Teething technically ends when all 42 of your dogs adult teeth have finished coming through, this is usually by 8 months of age.
By the time your puppy is 1 year of age all of their adult teeth should have come through.
Absolutely, leave the neutering until at least 1 year until he is mentally and physically matured, neutering is not the answer to a lot of problems or for his mental problems at the moment. As JudyN has mentioned it may be better for your puppy to wait until he matures and his life settles...
