Awwww, Evie looks a sweet girl :)
Molly has (or should I say 'had'- we haven't needed to use it in years) first a Dogmatics head collar, which worked but which she hated with a passion and spent all of walks trying to find a way to get it off, and then a k9bridle, which worked and which she...
Well, every forum has their own ways to reduce the impact that spam has on their forum, but it's a shame to impose such specific rules on to new users when you cannot guarantee that they have seen the emailed instructions.
How big is your dog? What breed or mix? I think that age is a big thing here- she may be adult in biological terms, but behaviourally she's right in the 'I'm a little monster' phase for lots of breeds.
Personally I'd go back to basics and take her somewhere that you know she can't escape from...
Yep, that looks like a grass/pollen/crop spray/whatever allergy to me too. I get a random rash that's very similar occasionally, and even after about 25 years of it neither the doctor nor I have any idea what makes it come and go so suddenly.
The last time it covered my whole head and my torso...
Well that doesn't sound like the sort of forum I'd want to be a member of anyway!
Any good forum has a policy of answering all helpdesk tickets (with the possible exception of duplicate tickets and just outright abuse) and any site that doesn't believe in making their forum a nice place to be...
I'm interested in potentially some of the topics in this thread, but it's too much information in one great lump which is likely to swamp the size of the forum. This is a small forum, mostly based in England, and mostly about sighthound racing. If you dump too much information in one go then...
I never much took to the TV when I was in Canada, for exactly the same reasons. I'm much more of a 'slow TV' person (it's actually a genre, if you look it up). I'm quite happy to watch an unscripted film that lasts an hour which shows you how to blow the perfect glass bowl, or the one I...
When I hear the sound clips I can't help but listen above them for bat calls. I do a lot of citizen science things through Zooniverse, and one that I've spent a very long time listening to is identifying bats from sound clips!
Your childhood sounded totally different to mine. Mine was...
Not particularly nice to watch nature being red in tooth and claw if you think that orcas, predatory carnivores that they are, are cuddly and sweet, but an interesting piece of footage none the less.
I know a whole selection of forums which ban users who post anything that looks like a cut and paste piece as spammers, because that's a trick used by spammers that need to get up to a certain post count before they can post links.
I can't believe that there's anywhere daft enough to ban you...
I watched a NG 'safari live' programme the other day and it was just edited to make it look more exciting and to have mini-cliffhangers before each break, which meant that it got turned off at the second break. That sort of programme is insulting to my intelligence and I hope that the above...
Links to sources are not banned. However, this is a discussion forum, and that means that for a thread to thrive you really need other people to join in or risk looking like Terry no friends by talking to yourself. There's a skill to starting threads which draw other people in for discussion...
This is another thread where you are likely to find that less is more and starting with an awful lot of links just closes other people down. Can you start with a post of your own opinion and just maybe one or two links to let others feel more able to join in please?
These look like they have been cut and pasted from other online resources. Can you not do that on DF please?
We are all for discussion, but we'd like it to be personal discussion, not just dredged from elsewhere. A whole page of posts is really hard for others to discuss and answer and it...
I have every sympathy for the man affected, and I'm acutely aware that I'm approaching a very similar position myself with my lovely (but suddenly very elderly, deaf and incontinent) GSD girl Molly Moo.
Due to my disabilities and poor health I'm unlikely to adopt another dog and you also have...
It's down to geography, size of dog and whether the groomer is coming to you or you're going to them.
For my dog to go to a groomer even oop north it's about £50 for the full works because she's not exactly small.
Hi Madchester, and welcome to DogForum :)
What a bonnie girl! Thank you for complying with our (unwritten) rule that all discussion of puppies has to have pictures for us to fawn over :)
I'm afraid that there's no single answer to how long toilet training takes. As with human babies...
Hi Ange77 and welcome to DogForum :)
It's very likely that this is a product of Summer not feeling well and Rolo not knowing when to stop. She's probably still a bit woozy and will also be in a bit of pain, which together are likely to give her a sense of humour failure and cause her to be a...
Ah, the days after Molly was spayed we had to develop a whole load of new games in the house because she was so full of beans it was scary. Good luck on keeping him within himself!
Can I suggest that you turn the possibility of hiding from him into a new game? Springers are very good tracking...
Hi Harvey
Antibiotics could be the cause of diarrhoea in dogs, just like they can be in humans because they kill off the beneficial gut bacteria. Changing the food can also cause this, whether it's because the new food doesn't suit them or it's just the change of diet. So can the worms...
