I think what we should be looking at is WHY are people finishing whippet racing, I do not think it is becuase of the handicap, jut look at Manton Club they cater for everyone and put on different formats and lengths so all can enjoy the racing and as JohnM has said if you dont like the format...
All my bitch's are rested during and after a season because that is what we have been adviced to do over the years, so are brought back after 13 weeks, we let them run about off the lead but do not put them behind a lure, but like some one else has said if you have 6 monthly bitch's you hardly...

I can only go on what I know so here goes, when non ped people breed with their whippets they usually have homes already picked for the pups, it is very hard when someone new comes into whippet racing because they find it very difficult to find some one who will sell them a pup. As for selling...
I think most breeders would prefer to find their pups a good racing/pet home before thinking of the price to ask :- " but have to agree if a C section has been performed it can be very costly for the breeder :))

A club dog is such because the owner probably enjoys racing at the club more than open racing, but that doesn't mean to say the dog isn't a fast racer "oh no "because I have seen many whippets race at club level when they could be open class winners ! as has already been...
