Thanks JudyN, I think she would definitely have picked up on my anxiety and emotions as I just felt so frustrated. Poor thing she would have had no idea what was stressing me out so I just made the situation worse. Another lesson learned, will just take it day by day and see how she goes
Thank you all so much for your replies.
I took her out this morning and it was awful, I encouraged her to take the lead but she just stood, I went to turn back home but she refused so we carried on, she trailed behind and then when we had to cross the road she dug her heels in and refused. I...
Thanks JudyN I am unsure what to try next. I have sat on a bench many times when out with her but all she does is stand and wait for me to get up again. She makes no attempt to go off sniffing or exploring on her own even if I take and throw her favorite ball, but she is happy to sniff every...
JudyN thank you so much for your reply, I have done the bit at standing at the end of the lead, folded my arms and turned away and she did just stand there, but I always gave in
She is managing ok at spending times on her own, she is coping better than me, I worry constantly till I get back home...
I've had biddy 13 months and she has made amazing progress. Her physical problems are almost all sorted but I do not think she is ever going to to be your normal happy go lucky type of dog but as long as she is as happy as she can be that is ok
She has had free reign for 12 months, everything...
Thanks Joanne F and Judy N for your replies,
I'm going to take your advice and forget about the raw feeding for now and just give her the tails food. I was feeding her Harringtons at first but she seemed to prefer the tails (I only use the ones that come in small 100 or 150 gm containers so...
Thank you for your replies
JoanneF, I have been to the vet with so many issues which I hope now are resolved but she still has a problem with anal glands, runny eyes which vet says is due to pollen and dry scurfy skin and coat (no itching) which has resolved with special food and yumove dry and...
None of my friends or relatives seem to have the same problems I do with feeding a correct dog diet yet here I am again.
After receiving excellent advice from this site about everything regarding Biddys health and especially about raw feeding and after reading Honeys natural feeding I decided to...
Oh my heavens what a beautiful dog. If I had a choice he is exactly what I would have chosen.
Maybe if I had been left to my own choice I would never have owned a dog, who knows, but I have been chosen to rescue Biddy so my goal is to ensure that she has a good life.
He is so beautiful though I...
Thanks JoanneF, I placed an order with them yesterday and was supposed to have received a 25% off voucher code sent to me but it did not arrive. I did get 15% off. Anyway have emailed them.
Thanks for your reply Excuseme. She is 9yrs old and I have had her a year now, I know I am going to...
Thanks JoanneF I will give the skippers fish skin a try and see if she will tolerate them
Her problems never seem to end, there is always something but I am hoping that if I can get her on the best diet then most of the problems may be eased
I have a problem with my little mutts teeth
She has already had 12 tooth extractions due to plaque build up and bad diet (Ithink}
She will not let me clean her teeth, have also tried the finger tip option, she will not let me do much really
The vet has said there is a little bit of plaque build...
Could not wait any longer as she kept staring at me and I know it was because she wanted food
I gave her 50gms of chappie with 25gms of boiled white rice which she gulped down
That was 30 mins ago and she seems fine, definitely more awake and alert than previously
Hopefully it was just a stomach...
Thank you so much for your replies and after reading your article on Separation anxiety Judyn I do not think this was the cause, she has never displayed destructive behaviour and I always leave the radio on and the patio doors open (I asked the neighbour if she had heard any barking or howling...
Thanks for your replies.
I already have the book and after reading it am more interested in trying the raw food, I was hoping that some company did the food in 100 or 200gm sizes although I have been unable to find one.
That sounds ok though, slicing it up into portions. I was wondering how I...
Have been thinking about and looking into raw food feeding for some time, I do think it could solve some of my dogs problems
She is a rescue and had a lot of problems, I have had her for nearly a year and we have had some difficulties along the way but hopefully things are getting better and I...
Thanks for your reply, am going to start leaving her daily for 10 mins at a time next week.
I have started this a few times before but always gave in and stopped doing it. I think I am going to have to persevere this time as I have groceries delivered now as I do not even go in a shop anymore...
At last, she has eaten her food this morning after we got in but I think there may be something related to me leaving her for 2 long periods of time. Her behavior has changed a little bit, I am hoping it is the heat but maybe it is'nt
In the house she always lays in one of her donut beds, she...
Thank you for replying JoanneF, I feed her twice a day, I would not be so concerned if she was not so greedy normally. I have a job keeping her weight down, she even turned her nose up at chicken last night. She also seems more lethargic, but I did put that down to the heat
I have bought her a...
