aaaw thankyou everyone!
He actually had a pretty rubbish birthday, the weather wasn't all that good and his two best mates are coming into season, so they were both VERY grumpy with him, he got beaten up a bit, poor thing. He did get a nice dinner though, and lots of treats from all my...
dya think maybe the bowl; moves, or makes a noise, or is a shape she can't get her nose into the corners of, or smells funny, or is too tall sided for her to see over. Or maybe she's jealous of her humans plates?
I've taught dude not to go near human plates, hope he doesn't give up on his bowls!
hi cadac, she likes balls yes? What about a ball in the mouth like a gobstopper? Or a ball on a tugger?
I'd keep shaking her lead at her all the time so she loses interest. Or rattle the lead then chuck a ball and repeat endlessly till picking up a lead means something else other than 'bark...
thats a very good point eingana, the danger does lie in people watching him use any technique on a dog, and then applying it to their own one willy nilly, and not in the context of a lovely happy relationship, but more likely as an attempt to get there unexercised, and never trained dog to stop...
someone once reprimanded me in the street for shaving my dog, and then making him wear a 'stupid' coat. Haha!
Always wanted a go on a furminator, after seeing the adverts, looks very satisfying!
aaw banana, don't worry she will be fine, and much healthier and happier in the long run.
Pippywhippet, yikes adders! My gang have developed a taste for slow worms, for eating and carrying around and rolling on, they are prized possessions. i often have to remove a bit from one of thems gob...
aaaw lovely photo, the one at the back is really posing. My dog is very jealous of your dogs beach, we've got pebbles mostly, and he hates them.
I think people think neutering makes dogs fat, cos some boy dogs can be a bit hard to keep weight on before neutering, mine wasn't interested in food...
i agree that they do respond best to kindness, it has been proved that aversive techniques don't produce the same results as positive ones.
I just think cesar milan gets a lot of flack for his work with aggressive dogs, but people hardly mention the stuff he does with scaredy ones or indeed...
the internet rumor mill is working well i reckon. I've looked and there are no reports of him killing a dog. There is plenty of speculation. There is one case that settled out of court, of a dog being injured at his training place on a treadmill. But this dog was being supervised by its owners...
this is a problem for me and dude in the summer. He comes to work with me; in the winter he spends time sheltering in the car. This time of year he can't so i have to make other arrangements depending on where we are. One garden i work in has neither shade nor fences, so i have to rig up an...
haha i have the same prob with mine, he will lie in the sun, literally until he is sick. I have a foil blanket and a few sticks to create him a bit of shade when he's out for the count. Or i put a wet tea towel over him.
She is so lovely, those huge paws! :)
blimey! She's amazingly lovely! What a sweet little face, i love dogs with little orange blobs for eyebrows, my childhood dog had them.
Keep 'em coming, though i am seething with jealousy, :)
oh my goodness she is beautiful! What lovely ears, and also the white mark on her back is unusual, is it? Or am i just used to looking at my dog? Lovely colouring anyway, sort of looks like a watercolour :)
hello gwen!
I used to exercise my teachers shire horse cross when i was at school. She was lovely, such a sweet funny beast. She would only go faster than a trot if facing towards home, but she was amazing when she did move, like thunder! She was very playful and silly, and she just knew how...
phew! Its just me and cadac that would have electrocuted your fish!
I'd say it goes below the waterline, as that is the point that the air is going to try and return along the tube, so, near to the air stone end rather than the pump end. I suppose its so that water doesn't siphon back up the...
