was only sharing my experience and offering my opinion....don't believe I suggested surgery either...but clearly there are vets on here and I'll not make this mistake again....
If it is simply from the injury, I would leave it for the moment, my beagle had a similar injury, the swelling is simply due to a build up of blood serum and will either dry up on it's own after slowly hardening or if there is a scab, it will come out and the wound slowly heal from inside. This...
I think possibly you mean the first lump was a grade 1 Mast Cell tumour and if so, yes they often are stand alone events....although mast cell tumours can be very agressive it does not necessarily mean they will spread.
I would agree with your vet and be reassured that the lump is likely to be...
Don't think there is a missed story, we were always going to get two baby whippets when we lost our oldies, we just brought the event forward a year (w00t)
the white throws came from Debenhams fifteen years ago, the blankets were a present from the mother in law before she turned into an evil...
our old boxer dog used to get it on his head.. if it was well established we used Fuciderm cream twice daily for three to five days and it cleared up no probs...but if you catch it when it's just starting, simply cleaning the area daily with hibiscrub used to sort it. we always trimmed the fur...
ANGELIC...nooooo not at all...he just had a little set too with Bill the beagle!!!!! Felix is a pushy little so and so, who will be learning his place soon!!!!
He is lovely but it's easy to baby them too much and I have to remind myself that he's a dog and not a little person, otherwise he will...
hi,
...
we have an elderly lurcher, who will be 14yrs old in two weeks time....but no other actual whippets.....ALTHOUGH (w00t) .....there is actually another puppy joining us in around four and a half weeks time (w00t)
sleeping with one eye open ( and I don't mean Felix)
Hi,
I haven't posted on here for a while and i realised that there probably are people still here that don't visit the other forum sooooo I thought I might share with you my lovely little whippet baby Felix....
meeting the dogs..
cuddles...
making friends..
just perfect...
As I'm unable to give raw bones to my dogs( for various reasons) I just use a normal dog toothpaste twice a week and again twice a week give them raw hide chews to munch on...their teeth remain lovely and clean :)
I wouldn't crate him at all.....but I would find him some more interesting toys.....something like a Kong toy filled with tasty food or a decent chew toy.
If he's chewing things he shouldn't, I would buy some Bitter Apple spray or similar and spray all the things you don't want chewed.
I would...
Bill the beagle is notorious for gulping down treats but when he tried chicken wings, he chewed them up properly...just a shame he's allergic to chicken now LOL.
James will play with the chicken wing but just won't eat it LOL.
Give them a try, I'm sure the whippets will enjoy them :)
I only commented that the vet is a friend because you're post implied that he was making money to administer not advise and in my case he has been great with advice but I consider myself told and will be more careful.
I asked untrained members as you put it, so that I could see things from...
I'm only human and having had veterinary advice, I followed it :( not quite sure what i did wrong, will not ask advice again though as seems that's not the right thing to do ?
