Hiya Molly, in the standard as we know it says any colour or mixture of colours, in dilutes you have the eye colour to match. If the measure was brought in it would have to be for every dog . When I judged Staffordshire Bull Terriers at Stockholm international (the most fabulous show to judge)...
Well Henrik as terrifying as that boat trip was, with Christer, Im sure trying to drown us and how Christer managed to get all of us plus luggage and dogs AND crates into this tiny boat that had a hair dryer for an engine! Well that was Nothing compared to the delights that awaited us on the...
Well Henrik whippets do not have a keel, it is a Dachshund that has a keel, so do not understand why a championship show whippet judge would even mention a keel on a whippet, if a Whippet had a keel its front assembly would be very wrong as they are not built to have one.
Yes Nicky I remember...
Yes Tracy we well remember Joe, I showed Madrigal under him at Huddersfield, and won the open hound class and I could not say on this board what he said to the young boy who stood second with his Afghan. Ask me next time you see me and I will tell you.
Another two of my critiques from the famous Mr James(I did think the world of though) Lowglen Newbold Cavalier, the more I moved Cavalier the more he ploughed in with one hind leg, but he does have a certain something that makes a good one great. C.C. his third and title. He won limit dog. At...
I agree with you Tracy, when judging at a championship show with the entries we get you would hope your first two to be deserving of a good critique. In a poor class though I don't have any problem in saying it lacked depth of quality.
I once had a critique from Bobby James who was famous for...
There is a lot of difference between fault judging and judging on virtues even the great ones have faults but their virtues are very strong, you don't want the non entity dog with no great faults and no great virtue. When we judge it is our own interpretation of the standard. I have given top...
In this country critique writing is part of your contract when you agree to judge. There are some judges that make a very good job in the ring and they will openly tell you that they struggle with critiques, then there are the judges who have not made such a good job and when their crits come...
Our governing body The Kennel club are campaigning at over exaggerations in some breeds. There are no sight hounds involved. their slogan will be fit for function. The new challenge certificates which all judges sign now have the wording,Having assessed the dogs and penalised any features or...
Well said Juley and Nicky, the greyhound is such a lovely breed and so many people that are working so hard to rehome the ex racers do not need this sort of hype. I will offend Eceni but my lovely vet Jeremy loves sight hounds.Yes Nicky you are so right about vets being involved with the...
Just had a phone call from Nicky she was thrilled to get the Dog C.C with her Junior boy Savuka Mambo Sun, well done Nicky from all at Courthill, when judging I don't like to say too much on these threads but as Nicky and I don't show under each other thought I could. RC.C was Sue Cronin's...
Do not stop coming on K9 Griff I had noticed the type o and as you know I know this pedigree like the back of my hand, when I noticed I wish I had mailed you, like Stephanie should have done, don't let it spoil your pleasure of posting. Lovely picture of Twinkle good luck with her.
The orange must be the lighting in the hall, sometimes the same at the Midland Whippet club, I had some lovely ones of Jason taken there and they were really orange.
