    Help Needed on Puppy Agression

He is much better but still has a few episodes. We think he does it more when he is hungry or due for a nap but so far it's manageable and way better than before.

    Help Needed on Puppy Agression

Hi Feverfew We took him to the vets on Tuesday this week for a checkup and he got the all clear. A healthy puppy but full of beans

    Help Needed on Puppy Agression

Thanks Judy. The big difference between today and previous days is that we feel so much more in control and can deal with the issues constructively. We still have biting here and there (nowhere near like before) and Bev can distract Blue and deal with him, which is a big difference from...

    Help Needed on Puppy Agression

Funny you should say that because he responds when I click my fingers. My old GSD used to respond to my finger clicks but he was a rescue and 18 months old when I got him. I just click my fingers out of habit and he seems to respond well. Back to the shops .... LOL

    Help Needed on Puppy Agression

Thank you for the advise. We have got a rope, a Kong rubber thing, some soft toys and I have a nylabone for puppies which I'll give him today if you think it's a good idea. I see so many differing opinions on-line.

    Help Needed on Puppy Agression

A quick update. We read the article again which was provided in an earlier post which we found extremely useful. We then decided to make some adjustments to hopefully improve the situation to make life easier for us. The first thing we did was to put an additional stair gate on the living...

    Help Needed on Puppy Agression

Your not joking I made the mistake of giving my German shepherd (no longer with us) Bakers dry mix and it sent him nuts. I'm using the same as what the breeder used and then when he's old enough and needs the next level up I'll probably switch it and use James Wellbeloved chicken dry mix.

    Help Needed on Puppy Agression

He has had a load of sleep today, more than he normally has, so with a bit of luck, he will be in a better mood when Bev comes back downstairs. We all live him to bits. I guess we may have underestimated the amount of extra work needed. I work from home, and Bev is at home all day, too, so I'll...

    Help Needed on Puppy Agression

Thank you. I've bought another stair gate so we can isolate ourselves from him completely so we don't need to use the crate for timeout and Bev can isolate him from her while she does things in the kitchen. Blue is perfectly fine first thing in the morning it's always at about 2pm and 6pm...

    Help Needed on Puppy Agression

Thank you Joanne that was really helpful. I've been super calm all day with him and so far he has been OK except for the episode earlier with my partner. He had his 12:30 lunch and shortly after went for my girlfriend again who did her best to distract him with a toy but he bit her so hard on...

    Help Needed on Puppy Agression

It was all going really well. Then my partner came downstairs and the dog went for her. She no longer wants the dog in the house, she won't come downstairs because she is too afraid of him and in tears. I had taken him outside for the toilet and he started digging in the garden again. He was...

    Help Needed on Puppy Agression

Thank you for your help. He is really good this morning but stared out the bifolds, barking for a couple of minutes this morning when I first opened his crate to let him out. I've taken him outside and no digging so I think it may be the fireworks that were spooking him. I've increased the...

    Help Needed on Puppy Agression

Hello, I hope this is the right section for this. Our puppy is 9 weeks old and we have had him exactly one week. He is a cross breed of Old English Sheepdog and Saint Bernard. A few times in the week we have had him he has bitten me and my partner several times which we recognise as normal...

Great Gadget for Cleaning Up After Puppy

With Blue only 9 weeks old he is getting really good at going outside for the toilet. We do have the occasional mishap so we got a Vax Spotwash from Argos and found it invaluable for cleaning up. We had never heard of it until we saw it on TV and rather than get the big clumsy carpet cleaner...
