I think the youngsters are doing so well purely because they haven't got the pressure to win like those tipped for gold.
The pressure being tipped for gold, doubled with competiting in your own country with a phenomenal amount of supporters must be extrememly stressful.
Think Adlington's done...

Posted on your wall on facebook Joanne. Ibuprofen is bloody lethal. I really can't understand why they don't produce them in child proof bottles, they're sugar coated and tempting to kids just as much as dogs. I'm so sorry for your loss, crying shame for you all. :huggles:
Only managed to come up for the weekend but I had a great time!
Gutted I missed last night's dance off (would of wooped your arses!!) (w00t)
Favourite part of the derby for me was the parade of previous winners - couldn't stop crying!!!
Some brilliant racing, huge congratulations to all the...
So sorry Maurice. She did you proud both on the track and in her long golden years.
Her race mate Hobgoblin is still tottering about but not for long I imagine. Tony recalls the pair having some great races together and hope those happy memories replace your sadness soon.
Rest In Peace Bonnie...
Hi Carol, I finished Saturday's piks at 1am last night but was too tired to sit and wait for them to upload. I'll try and get them on tonight but it's club night at gin pit as well. Sorry, beginning of week is always mental for me but can appreciate your all eager to see.
Mithering git! :p
Entertainment piks are over with Vicky so she can put them in her report (it'll work better that way)
I'm midway through racing piks (takes longer now as I have to tag which dogs are in piks so racers can pull out piks of their own dogs on website)
Calculations taken from results on K9 of entries for English Derby:
2007 held at Newton Aycliffe 201 entries
2008 held at Newton Aycliffe 160 dogs (people may recall kennel cough was around at the time)
2009 held at Devon 125 dogs
2010 held at devon 119 dogs
2011 held at devon 97 dogs
2012...
Busy day today with 60+ dogs running
Results will probably be out tomorrow as were all getting ready for race night but wanted to announce there's a further £100 sponsorship been donated to tomorrow's open courtesy of Mr Stuart Killgallon of C&G commercials!!
Many thanks for this...
Just a reminder for everyone coming......
BRING YOUR WELLIES!!!!!!
We've decided to hold a wellie throwing competition after racing on Sunday with a prize for the winner! (w00t)
To my knowledge, these 2 littermates are the only whippets ever to have the abnormality. We have a non ped with myostatin muscle related hypertrophy and dropped onto the article whilst researching causes of cramp as I suspected hyperkalemia.
Both males were castrated so would hope no further...
Got to see the little gang on Sunday. They look lovely and wish the new owners the best of luck with them all.
My fave is Abbie ( love the name and if you get bored of her Rob, let me know!) (w00t)
Seen them again on Monday and told her how she's got lots of walkies to look forward to when...
Happy Birthday John. I already know you had a good day as your little girl did you proud today but hope you've had a lovely evening celebrating as well!
Jac & Tony xxx
So sorry for your loss. Must of been heartbreaking to bid farewell to such a wonderful dog.
Time heals and the pain replaced with fond memories of which I'm sure you'll have many to comfort you with. He has lived a life well and gone on to live on through his offspring. Try not to be so sad...
