He doesn't 'do' stairs, it's not clear if that's because he can't manage them or possibly he's never lived in a house and hasn't come across them before. He's been clean in the house but wants to sleep in the hall leading out to the garden, so he may have been kennelled?
At the moment Bob is on Metacam. The chief vet in the practice is an orthopaedic specialist but is on holiday until next week so hasn't seen him yet, we won't arrange any referral or other treatment until we have discussed it with him.
It is difficult not having any history or any idea how long...
Thanks Jane I'd appreciate it, the fosterer is near Gunnislake, so Plymouth would be the nearest large town.
They are completely snowed in at the moment, but hopefully not for too long!
I thought that about the 'collie stalk' when I first saw it, but he definitely cries out during the process of standing up so it is hurting him. Also first thing in the morning he sometimes stands then his front legs collapse and he falls and struggles to stand again. Once he's been up and about...
Oldies recently took in Bob from a Welsh pound, he's now in a foster home in Cornwall. He was in poor condition and very thin and seemed generally like a wobbly old boy estimated to be about 12 yrs, but he is an earmarked Hancock and I've subsequently found out that he is only 9.
He has a weird...
Blue is a 10 year old Whippet X who came into Oldies Club care when his owner moved into sheltered accommodation and Blue couldn’t go along. Blue is an absolute poppet of a dog and he’s now in an Oldies Club foster home in Cleethorpes, North East Lincolnshire.
Perhaps the best introduction to...
In my experience it's normally excitement and a misdirected attempt to play rather than either dominance or anything directly sexual.
I would say a firm 'off' when she does it and walk away and ignore her for a couple of minutes. Ideally distract her before she starts, try to redirect her to a...
The trouble is dogs are dogs, not robots. Even the best trained dog can lapse or do something unexpected. It's even more difficult with a youngster because you can't train them to recall in all circumstances without letting them offlead at times and in places where you are *reasonably* confident...
The ad seems to have been removed

I assume you want people to look out for her, so a description or photograph would be useful for those of us who don't know her. Is she on Doglost and are there any posters that people can download and plaster around the place? It might also help people keep their eyes open if you say...
Here's a link to the rescue's website in case anyone is interested. So many lovely dogs on there :(

frazzyb - are you connected with the rescue? I just wondered if they advertise their dogs on any of the rescue sites like Dogsblog or Dogpages...
I don't really see how many of the puppies were sold quickly is relevant to anything at all, surely the quality of the homes they are going to is more important than how quickly they sell?
Good on you for taking back that poor little bitch, you did a great job turning her round, but it shows...
Irrespective of lines my definition of 'responsible' breeding would be based on how much responsibility the owners of the dam and the sire will take for those 32 pups for the rest of their lives.
Was this a one-off or has she continued to bleed? Also is she spayed?
The most common cause of blood in urine is a simple bladder infection which would hopefully be sorted out by the antibiotics, but usually the amount of blood is relatively small so the urine has a pink tinge.
However it...
