People coming into our garden to let dogs sniff and pee....

As a one off, the dog strays and the owner calls back then yes totally acceptable. As you described not only reoccurring but letting the dog stray and no attempt to regain control bringing it off your property is totally unacceptable. Bad people unfortunatly give good dogs a bad name.

    Raw diets,

Unfortunately not, I took most of the walls out too, it has been said by the wife that I got carried away lol. I will give the towel option a go, he is very relaxed about all food. I didn't want him being possessive about food so from bringing him home i give him his dinner, bones, carrots or...

    Puppy diarrhoea help

As stated above in young dogs it's common. I like to call them excited poo's, the reason is my pup's poo is fine until we go out on a walk or day trip. In a new environment if dodsley has a poo it turns out to be on the soft side. From talking to others it seems to be pretty normal

    Dodsley the Boxer

Today's trip to the beach was certainly a success, Dodsley remembered what was coming and was instantly excited before even getting out the car. As soon as his feet hit the sand he turned into a spring lamb bouncing on the spot unable to contain his excitement. We did have some success getting...

    Dog harness

Ok so currently we use the three peaks dog harness, however have noticed that he is getting reddening of the skin over his chest where it sits. I have been looking at and like the look of the ruffwear harness despite its price. Does anyone have experience with this harness or can they...

    Raw diets,

I agree mince is certainly more convenient I have been feeding some as mince and some as full cuts of meat just for a bit of variation as I want sure if one was preferred over the other. We do travel regularly too but mainly in the UK so I have a chest freezer full at home and have a freezer for...

    Dodsley the Boxer

I try to get plenty of off leash running where I can for him. He is friendly with other dogs but can't be sure with all dogs so care has to be taken. He gets off the lead once or twice a day though. We are fortunate enough for our house to back onto a quiet woodland so morning and evening walks...

    Raw diets,

Was just curious as to how many people raw feed, also specifically curious as to any boxer owners who raw feed. I was generally just curious as to people's preference for mince or chunks of meat and if there was any reason for your choice? Personally I don't like to give bone as part of a...

    Dodsley the Boxer

So just thought I would start a thread detailing the triumphs, tribulations and some of the outings we have while owning a boxer. I will start with a little about dodsley, he is currently 19 weeks old and just over 14kg pretty trim and athletic as you would expect for the breed. Today has...

Training pup Is this the infamous stage?

One would assume at 17 weeks he has lost some baby teeth with adult ones pushing through, could teething be playing a factor in his new mouthing habit? My boy loves cold carrots out the fridge when he has net teeth pushing through and it's much more soothing for him than fingers

Why don't you go somewhere else!

By boy dodsley is strange in that take him a walk on a lead in the rain he will sit and refuse to move take his lead off he will happily walk to heal. If it's dry he will walk beautifully on or off the lead.

Crate or pen when leaving pup for short time alone

I found that my puppy became quiet attached to me more than anyone. They usually tag onto one person in particular. To ease the transition on being left for short periods of time in his crate I used to give him a worn t-shirt so my smell was in there with him and it appeared to have a calming...

    Hi from a newbie

Welcome, I'm sure you will only regret not owning a dog sooner. Everyone here is very friendly and will help where they can. Just remember there is no such thing as a stupid question

    Anyone have any ideas??

Well we are seeing improvements his green/yellow eye gunk has stopped. That has to be a positive. As for the ulcer I guess it's just a waiting game till Sunday so the vet can have a look at it. To my uneducated eye I would say it looks better. His eye appears to be less foggy. Still taking it...

    Anyone have any ideas??

No your seeing it correctly, the reddening is apparently just due to conjunctivitis then the right eye that is squinty is due to an ulcer. In all fairness when she dropped colouring into his eye the ulcer was easily visible. Maybe there is a dose of hay-fever that is causing the irritation to...

    Anyone have any ideas??

Thank you, I'm surprised how well he is coping to be honest. There is no complaints or changes in behaviours as of yet. He is still very playful and loving. Fingers crossed it does heal well and quickly.
