So just thought I would start a thread detailing the triumphs, tribulations and some of the outings we have while owning a boxer. I will start with a little about dodsley, he is currently 19 weeks old and just over 14kg pretty trim and athletic as you would expect for the breed. Today has been dodsley's first outing to the beach. We have come away for a few days upto Scarborough. Having done the research to find a dog friendly beach, it was well worth the effort. upon arriving his tail (well his stump) began to wag so vigorously he nearly knocked himself off his feet. When his feet touched sand for the first time there was a brief moment of calm that can only be described as the calm before the storm. We walked along the beach a little to find quieter spot before letting him off the lead. As soon as the lead was released, off he shot running laps around us burying his face in the sand to pick up every piece of driftwood that caught his eye. He must of consumed half his weight in sand today. That being said he seemed to love it and was so well behaved not chasing other dogs or bouncing up strangers. I must say I'm looking forward to getting him down the beach again tomorrow. Hopefully we can tempt him to get his feet wet tomorrow.
