So true! :huggles: Diva has this funny high-stepping skip she does when I've asked her to do something and she KNOWS she's done it right and is getting herself all excited as she waits for that ''Oh what a Goooood Girl''
They are, quite simply, THE BEST breed in the world!
Beautiful, placid, fabulous with kids, not demanding of attention and training and mental stmulation 24/7 like, say, a Border Collie - I honestly can't see me EVER being without a whippet in my life ever again!
I...
I would have another TOMORROW if I had my way!!! :- "
I think we've just 'spoilt' Diva a touch over the past week or so as I cooked some sausages and some lambs liver as a training treat for her and we :b ...ahem, mixed a little bit in with her dry food and now she EXPECTS it all the time...
A few folks have mentioned getting a DAP for her so I might just try it.......it might calm my stresshead hubby down too
She's really taken to her crate though - whereas before she'd crash out on the sofa, she now takes herself off to her own bed without us even telling her :o...
What a stunning litter - so identical
I like the one standing right next to Zana, on the right, with lots of white on his/her nose :huggles:
But I'm sure if they were all in front of me I'd find it IMPOSSIBLE to choose
Ava is a gorgeous name too - so lovely and feminine...
I've just seen the pics too - she's an absolute sweetheart
Lots of good advice already been given  I would just give her two/three/four shortwalks each day so she doesn't over-tire herself and I'm sure her body will soon adapt and it won't be long before she's belting...
Neil and I have been together eleven years and for the eight summers that we've taken a holiday (been too skint other years!) we've headed over to the Lake District and either stayed with our friend or in a caravan.
But for 2009 Neil is ADAMANT that we are going to the Isle of Wight as he went...
I wish Diva would eat her food in seconds!!! She just picks at it....unless it's a treat like a piece of sausage or liver or biscuit in which case it doesn't hit the sides going down!!! (w00t)
Good luck and let us know how it all goes :huggles:
I've always had both sexes done and never heard of anything like this happening :o I too would be very wary of letting the original vet anywhere near my bitch since he cocked up the first op  Reporting him sounds the best...
With the shifts Neil and I do (me earlies in a newsagent and him on nightshift) she rarely gets left in an empty flat but we still want to teach her that it's ok to be on her own occasionally as we still want to be able to go to the cinema or shopping now and then
Neil has a small...
Diva doesn't want to cuddle up with us on our old lumpy sofa now she has her posh new crate!!!
We bought her a gorgeous soft duvet bed today to make her crate as cosy and inviting as possible but THIS is how she repays us - she walked in as soon as Neil arranged the bed inside an hour ago and...
Neil and I often used to 'pop over the water' to Durham when we lived in North Shields - it was only about twenty minutes' drive once you got through the Tyne Tunnel :p
We haven't been for a while now though - certainly not this year I don't think  I think a visit is in order soon...
Awwww how sweet is that  I'd love a cat again though I don't know Diva would be with one......especially not after the way she is with rabbits!!! :o
Mind you, a big tom that is used to dogs would probably show her who's boss with a well-aimed bop to the nose  :- "
Our Diva just finished her season last Saturday *25th* We've only had her just coming up to six weeks now and she came into season two weeks after we got her. We're not sure of her age but have been told she's probably between 3-4 years old.
She only bled for the first week or so, certainly...
As far as I know Diva is only one of two whippets in our town - though we often see quite a few during the summer months when the tourists hit town  And I'm not shy...I'll blatantly go up and talk to the owner for a cuddle :D
I can't understand it because they ARE the best breed in...
