My 2 whippies are insured. Granted they're on a premier package. This is partly due to the liability amount. Background:
In the past they've knocked me down and I broke my wrist, one of them knocked a man down (no damage). This was all in the younger days. They're 5.5 and 6 now.
Not mine...
Hi
I have 2 adult whippets but know of a rescue greyhound/whippet - another male. We would love him but I worry how to manage 3 on a walk - on lead and off.
Any good tips?
Thanks all.
My boys have been using their joined raised food dishes for a few days. They are strangely cautious - they don't attack their food ravenously - yet!!! Suppose that's good in itself.
We will see how we go :)
My boy Barney is big. Much taller than the "average" whippet. I was wondering if a raised food bowl might be good for him.
Does anyone use them?
If so, any recommendations?
Thanks
"The Bay" at Filey. Been twice (summer and winter) so far with our 2 whippets. Dog friendly beach and pub. Lovely.
You can use the pool and gym on site as part of your stay. Have a look through Hoseasons website.
Following my last posts, Barneys bruising seemed to fade as quickly as it had appeared closely followed by the hard lumpy bit. So no. We didn't. I still wanted to phone for advice as I do believe it's a warning of what could be a more serious injury one day.
So we will watch him closely. That's...
Thank you all so much again for your replies.
Eve - I agree - very helpful
Trish - thanks for the phone number and pics. Barneys is more centre of thigh and toward his bits (!!) rather than down his leg.
Not bruised as bad as in the pics. There is a lump though. More through feel than visual...
Barney is a big dog who puts heart and soul into playing ball. He doesnt race. A few times he has appeared to "pull" something and limp. When this has happened we havent let him run. Always seems to get better.
At vets last Thursday for annual booster. Mentioned it. Vet had a feel and couldnt...
Hello everyone
I haven't posted in ages - but have been watching the forum from afar!
Hope everyone is ok :)
My 2 whippets have lovely lightweight leather shoe string type house collars from hide and collars. However naughty Dylan has chewed through 2 of Barneys collars. I was about to order...
Thanks both. I really think he would eat constantly if we let him. I don't want him to be hungry obviously but not fat either. What can I give him? More food and just watch his weight? I'll try him with a carrot or two too!!!!
Barney is 4.5 years old. He came from Rodene Whippets and has always been big!!! He also has a big appetite. Our other boy Dylan prefers to eat like a scavenger whilst poor Barney eats up like a good boy but will happily continue. Obviously we don't want him to get fat - he's a bit wide now...
