I just had to share this :D
Some people really do go to extremes!

How do you keep your dog occupied whilst you are out, and would you buy one of these if it were available commercially?
I can't comment on sighthounds as I'm not really qualified to, but I too have used the double lead method with both a halti and a half check as a belt and braces
I find it is much easier to steer a large dog by this method, making backing out more difficult
A canny collar is different to a...
given that an on heat bitch within scenting distance can make dogs 'competetive', I wouldn't be comfortable leaving mine to mingle in a pack of dogs
Is this form of boarding legal in the uk? It is a number of years since I read all the boarding licence criteria
When I visit a forum regularly, I usually make use of the 'view new posts/content' function to see what's been going on since my last visit
If it's a really busy forum, I'll probably then look at 'view my posts' to check for responses to things I've posted and make sure I haven't been asked any...
It never ceases to amaze me how many people appear to start off on the right path looking for a pup, but for some obscure reason wind up with something that never entered the discussion before and just doesn't fit the criteria they agreed suits them!
I hope this pup turns out to be an absolute...
Brude suckled in his sleep as a pup, but grew out of it... until his spinal op. He would cry in his sleep for weeks afterwards. He had to sleep on our bed as his paralysis meant he couldn't move himself if necessary, and I'd have to shift him. Eventually the crying gave way to suckling again...
the only way to keep them off is to make them uncomfy. I put the placemats under the throw if his nibs is out of favour :p
The general rule is that there has to be a dog blanket and he has to ask. One night when he was out of sorts and needed a snuggle I heard a very faint 'yip!' - god love...
Vets bills probably have increased, but in my experience (with our vet, and therefore can't vouch for others), if you're insured they may as well take the quickest path and test for everything at once, whereas if you're not insured they will run tests to eliminate the obvious before progressing...
That is all in the past oakmoorehill. The site has a new owner, and a new moderating team. Any bickering that went on in the past will not be permitted. Posts will be removed if necessary
the carol concert was great (as was the mulled wine and mince pies)
Brude smells all flowery, and as ever is strangely better behaved after his bath!
A big thank you to Terri - we'll be visiting again :)
we generally get along to a handful of shows each year, and never choose to go to one where our hound is not welcome
Beagles are sociable little hounds, so we choose dog friendly agri shows over beaches and parks, and he has a fabulous day out. We're his pack. We're not leaving him at home...
What do you have hanging on your dog lead hook?
Anybody visiting our house would be forgiven for thinking we own a full pack of hounds given the arsenal hanging by the back door!
Our current favourite dog walking apparatus is a very nice leather training lead, which can be worn across the body...
So today should consist of the last two bits of Christmas present shopping, a dog bath with Terri at Hardwick Hounds (wish us luck as Brude has only ever been bathed at home in the past, and hates nail clippers so much I now Dremmel them instead), and rounding off the day with a carol concert at...
Just had another look. The slow-mo clip was particularly amusing... They're not built for efficiency on the move, are they? :D
Then there were a couple of clips with somewhat distracted competitors  typical beagles!
If I wanted Brude to stay a course the lure would have to be deer...
