Good idea for a thread - I get through a lot of books! I'm currently reading The Birth of Venus by Sarah Dunant. Amazon blurb: 'Alessandra is not quite fifteen when her father, a prosperous cloth merchant, brings a young painter back with him from northern Europe to decorate the walls of their...
Welcome - and thank you for the gorgeous photos of gorgeous dogs!
I think you need admin to change your name rather than mods. If you don't hear back, hang on till you have 10 or more posts - I think you might be able to do it yourself then.
Oh, I forgot the barbed wire fence incident!
We were walking along a lane adjacent to a local nature reserve when Jasper caught sight of a deer in the reserve. He tried to climb through the barbed wire fence, got his belly caught on a barb and as his momentum pulled him forwards, his skin...
In my book, there's no such thing as overcautious :) Though I did have a vet who was happy to say, 'You're being overcautious, go away,' and not charge me for my 30-second consultation. Not sure they make them like that any more.

Probably the most embarrassing, though, was when he decided to jump in the deep end of a large pond in the local woods to cool off. He discovered...
I'm afraid it was Jasper's muzzle!
He was... err... unpredictable. As my mum used to say about me, 'when he was good, he was very, very good, but when he was bad he was horrid!'
But the muzzle meant that I could walk him anywhere, usually off lead, and meant that I could relax and feel much...
I'm mourning the loss of the Prince of Darkness too. Given the life he had, and all his medical problems, though, he really was a survivor. Random connection: his ex-wife had a coffee shop in Newport, Shropshire, where he occasionally helped out - he once served my in-laws a cup of coffee. And...
I thought it was around 10 posts, and didn't know we had links to WP, so I'm surprised to see your avatar too! Ah, though there something about it here - I might investigate further if I find the time/energy: XFtoWP - XenForo to WordPress integration
