    Bone Size

The most sensible and practicable answer yet, in my opinion. Furthermore: If a whippet looks too much like an italian greyhound, it probably has too little bone. If it looks too much like a staffie, it probably has too much. It is all a question of balance. A dog with a lot of body needs more...

    Tail Docking

Since fox terriers have been mentioned in this thread, I thought it would be interesting to compare a docked one to an undocked one.

    The Whippet Archives

I only just realized you can register as a user and then add dogs yourself! What a brilliant idea!

    The Whippet Archives

At least I did not discover it until today. It really looks very promising, and I am sure the lady developing the site would welcome any help from K9ers: http://www.kashia.net/twa/index.php

Absolutely stunning! Just soooo whippety - just the way I like them! She has the same markings as my first whippet

How Long Has This Word Been Around

Wow, even if it was invented by someone, you cannot really copyright a word, can you? Unless it is a registered trademark (which I am guessing it is not?), there really is no way you can restrict the use of a word, is there? I would have thought it would be flattering for anyone inventing a...

    Zeb Needs A New Harness

Just thought I would share a picture of Gullet with her new Webmaster harness: I am very pleased with it, and Gullet seems to like it, too. It has fleece padding, and is fully adjustable. With the round-the-waist elastic lead from the same manufacturer (the red umbilical cord-looking lead on...

Top Dog And Bitch 2006 Photos

That looks like a rather goodlooking dog. Can anyone help with his breeding? More pictures, perhaps?

    Looking For English Lines

Was not Stoney Meadows a US kennel? Sorry I cannot be of more help, but I believe it was American.

    Seperation Anxiety

Cannot really remember how early I started and how fast I progressed with training my whippet to be on her own. The only thing I know, is that I started with very, very short intervals, making sure she never got distressed. That meant starting with closing the door between us when she was tired...

    Zeb Needs A New Harness

The straps on those harnesses seem very thin - will they not dig into the chest of the dog and make him uncomfortable?

    Zeb Needs A New Harness

I forgot to mention: It is very easy to put on and take off - a lot easier than it might look like.

    Zeb Needs A New Harness

I bought a Ruffwear Webmaster harness for Gullet today. I bought the small size, which is just small enough for her (mind you, she is a quite large bitch - nearing 50 cms at withers). It is fully adjustable though, and seems very comfortable. Although Gullet has not used it yet, I have heard...

    Monty After Ringcraft

The shine and colour to Monty's coat is absolutely beautiful. I don't think I have ever quite seen such a rich colour in a dilute dog here in Norway. Really amazing.

    Comments On Stacking

I think he looks rather well stacked. Agree with the comment on the positioning of the bait, though. I would suggest you photograph from from a slightly higher angle, as well. I suspect he looks rather more high on leg than he might actually be in those pics.

What Type Of Whippet Is Grace????

 She is beautiful! What ever else could she be but a whippet?

    Which Photo To Choose?

Pic two, definately. For all the above reasons, plus flash photos often make dogs look less substantial than they really are.
