Hadn’t seen that one, I am just changing my puppy over to Orijen puppy ( currently on day 2 of slow change so 25% of new food) she is going mad for it - hope to get her fully on to the new food by next weekend
I have always fed my dogs on Autarky and they all did well on it but this pup it...
wow what a selection - how old is your pup? Mine is nearly 5 months
my cocker gets her kibble, 3 meals a day - 1/2 goes as what we call free food (in the bowl) then the other 1/2 goes in a treat ball or flying saucer and she has to work to get the food.
treats are her kibble for training (this...
I am fuming
I have a 16 week pup, for training treats I am only using the kibble. I have added carrot to her diet as a treat, so she gets half mid morning and again late afternoon between her 4 feeds
we went out Sunday afternoon stopped for a drink in the pub garden, that was lovely and she...
Hi and welcome, have fun choosing a name.
We chose the name of our pup and the breeder started training her what her name was, went I went to collect her the breeder called her by her name and she came running
have you decided on a girl or boy pup, or aren’t they born yet?
Hi and welcome
I think the first few questions will be what are you feeding her and how much?
every dog is different and if feeding a kibble then use the guidelines on the packet (but remember they are just guidelines)
I have a pup and she was the same, we have increased her kibble and added...
Finsky so sorry to hear all you have gone through this week with worry, glad to hear the outcome is not your worst thought
sending healing hugs to Eva and hope the op goes well when she eventually gets it
love and hugs to you all
Thanks Joanne - i personally think she is a little too thin for a pup of her age. (no I can’t see her ribs etc and she has a defined waist)
thinking I might change her food to a better quality kibble. The brand I used for my other dogs
I will try the carrot. I haven’t given her any treats yet...
Hi all looking for a bit of advice
I have a working cocker 14 weeks old - she came on beta puppy which she is still currently on, but she is looking for her next meal at least an hour and a half before it’s due.
She is still being fed 4 times a day - I have up’d the amount to slightly more...
I have always had more than one dog until now. Used to get a pup when I lost one of the two.
lost both within a year of each other just before lockdown and the other in the second lockdown and for a while there we said no more dogs
we ended up with Ash who is 14 weeks old now and boy it’s so...
I feel your pain, my 14 week old pup was / is the same (I say was and is, as it has got less and less, I not going to say totally stopped yet )
As others have said stick to one method - we use the same method that coco2014 has said above
Hi and welcome
wishing you all the best with the new place and research in finding a good breeder for your new addition in a couple of years. May be worth researching breeders now as decent ones ( I know where I got my pup from) can have an 18 month waiting list
I have had a dog that would be asleep and all of a sudden jump up and attack my other dog for no reason.
we took him to the vet. We got him as a rescue at 3 months old by this time he was 18 months old.
unfortunately after tests by the vets we found out he had a brain tumour
sorry don’t...
Morning I am sat here at 6.30am with my first cuppa of the day
having just read your post I looked round to my cocker (12 weeks old) and thought read a book? Erm only dog training books currently and only when the wee one is asleep watch a film? As long as you can pause it
having a pup is...
Aww she was beautiful
I know your heart is breaking but you have to remember you were able to save her from starving to death and she knew she was very much loved by you x x
every dog I have lost has taken part of my heart with them. It’s like losing a human family member
loads of love n...
