Stanley, my mini schnauzer, has suspected Cushings disease. The diagnosis hasn't yet been confirmed but he is about to undergo tests. I understand it isn't the easiest illness to diagnose, so I hope the forthcoming tests aren't going to be too long haul.
He's currently drinking loads of water...
A few pictures of Fred in his new jumper....he feels very snug in it. These pictures don't really do the jumper justice, but it's a good fit, lovely quality and very warm. I can put his other one in the wash now... :p
I popped over to Gillian's this afternoon. I didn't take Fred & Stan as I was on my way into town to do some shopping. Jonah wasn't to know this...here he is looking for his buddies...
His disappointment didn't last long.....I wonder why...could it be the new housemate (foster girl...
I was down Warwickshire way this weekend visiting family. Before I left for home today we went for a stroll along a local countryside canal. It's one of our favourite short stretches and just right for Fred.
I've posted some very similar photos before, but hey, what's a little bit of...
Guess who we met up with today? Yep, Muffin, Jonah and Gillian came along too….usual venue!
We did the usual things…….Stan chased Muffin...
Muffin chased Jonah….
Fred stood around looking confused…which foot goes first?
Jonah went off hunting in the long grass…
And found a hole in...
Fred has been a little off colour of late. Here he is enjoying the sunny rays on a Friday morning. Stan seems to be a little protective of him at the mo', I think he can sense he is a bit down...
His favourite spot in the house...
Stan's keeping an eye on him..
Both sharing a sun...
Fred and Stan met up with Muffin and Jonah again today. We all enjoyed a stroll through a lovely dale, following a winding river, bordered by wildflower meadows. Oh, and we came across a few bridges too.
Here's Fred leading the way through the woods and alerting us to the presence of a herd of...
Fred and Stan decided to spend part of the May Bank Holiday visiting the Cotswolds.
I took a few quick snaps from the walk around the town we visited and surrounding countryside. My mother came along too, as we were really visiting her for the weekend. It's one of our favourite places to go...
I managed to dodge the heavy showers today and do a few miles along an old railway line near to Buxton, now called The Tissington Trail. It was very easy going, just what Fred likes these days..... and I just happened to have my little camera to hand :-
Off we set..Fred prefers the grass...
As the neighbours' kids were out playing in the front garden, I took Fred and Stan out on the back terrace garden to enjoy a chew and the sun without being disturbed. Once their chews were consumed Stan wanted to come in. Fred decided he'd stay put on his blanket and make the most of the...
Can we go out Mum...I'm bored..!
I'm even more bored now....
Oh go on then...let's go and meet your mates...

My Mum is a keen knitter and offered to knit Fred a second jumper. I bought the wool and here is the end result. I'm really pleased with it and it gives me a chance to wash his other one :b  , as he wears a jumper constantly now.
Here he is at my mother's house, in front of the...
Gillian and Muffin popped over today. After a rather wet walk they were invited back for a cup of tea. Muffin was the typical curious whippet and had his nose in everything at first... :p
Then he found the dogs' toy basket tucked away beside the sofa... :-
'Clear off', says...
I've fallen in love with greyhounds but am wondering if I would be able to offer one a suitable home in time.
I ony live in a small two up, two down house and the living room is about 4mx 4m. We only have a 2 seater settee and one chair, and a tea-chest which we use as a seating box...
I don't usually head off on Saturday mornings...but as the OH had done the weekly shop and it was too nice to stay in cleaning, I decided to head off into the local hills. I was even inspired to take my camera as the sun was making a regular appearance!
The walk started off as an uphill...
I don't know how he did it but Fred seems to have broken his tail.
I just noticed it was looking a bit limp at the end and a bit out of line. We think he must have wagged it a bit hard and knocked it, poor chap.
Having searched the forum for some tips, I read that a good way to let it...
I decided to head back to the dales today, to research another white peak walk to show Gillian and the boys. Fred, having been rather put out at me describing him as an oldie, insisted on coming along too, especially as it was such a sunny day. He had a spring in his step and said he'd lead the...
Fred's 13 now, and in reasonable health (I think) although suffers a little with his corn and slightly wobbly hind legs. He's also very nearly deaf and gets a little forgetful too.
Despite his reasonable health for his age, I do worry about him a bit.
Everything needs to be considered a little...
I met up with Gillian and the boys yesterday. Not the usual venue, we thought we'd try out a dales walk instead. The scenery is very different to the moorland hills where we live (dark peak), but that's what's so wonderful about Derbyshire...you don't have to go too far to enjoy the white peak...
