I've not posted on here for a while as I've been a bit preoccupied with our new addition.
Meet Shayla
She is a greyhound cross (collie possibly) & will be 2 in July.
We've had her just 5 weeks and she's settled in great.
I got a call today from the man at the wildlife centre. He was on his way back to the park with the heron we rescued from the ice last week.
The heron is now feeding for himself so is ok to be released again.
Unfortunately I was on my way to work when he phoned so wasn't able to go...
I phoned today to find out how the heron was doing expecting him to be released today but unfortunately he isn't doing too well. He isn't eating very well so the release has been delayed until he's more able to cope. The river today was almost frozen the whole way across so food will be in short...
We were walking the dogs this morning along the river when we spotted a heron on the water. As we got closer he didn't fly off and we realised he was totally stuck in the ice about 10 feet in from the bank :o
I got a new camera at Christmas, it's quite complicated to say the least.
all I want really is to be able to take good pics of the dogs when they are running.
It's an OlympusE-420 and came with a 14-42mm lens.
What with the snow & ice recently I've not had much chance to practice with it cos...
the dogs are loving this snow & we've been in the park every day but I've noticed Scrumpys back feet are looking sore. She is a very skinny lurcher & has no fat on her at all. Her middle 2 toes on her back feet go pink then bright red. This morning they almost looked as tho they were bleeding &...
When I brought her home she was 7 weeks old, short coated, short nosed & very very cute
Now, all of a sudden she's 10years old, broken coated, pointy nosed & still very very cute
She's not been an easy dog, she was a right little sod when she was a pup but...
I needed a camping chair from up in the loft so Neil went up to get it. I have never once been in our loft in over 20 years incase there are spiders up there (w00t)
Well this is what he found..............................................................
It's enormous and takes up a whole...
just recently my Scrumpy has started eating the flowers off the balsam growing everywhere in our park. She also munches on the stalks which our local friends group is busy stamping down. So far the balsam seems to be winning that battle :-
So far she hasn't been sick but I'm just a bit...
We are planning to have a weeks break later on this year, Oct or Nov. I'm really struggling to find somewhere that will take 3 dogs :(
I've been on so many websites but cant find anywhere that is suitable.
we need;-
Somewhere fairly reasonably priced, £250 ish per week. Either a cottage or...
We were in Cornwall the other week, the weather was brilliant, really hot. The dogs loved it, we went on the beach most nights & they just ran & ran :D
here are some pics,
Rafferty.
Scrumpy taking it easy....in my chair :o
Hebe
Over the last few weeks I've noticed that the skin under scrumpys front legs is going a lot darker. It's normally a pinky/brown but is turning dark grey/black.
It is also changing in her groin area, along her legs & now along her chest too.
It looks like bruising under the skin but is very...
Where we walk our dogs there is a big meadow with long grass & some tracks mowed across the middle for people to walk along. The lurchers love running & bouncing through the long grass but they also find mice in there.................and have started to eat them :x
Today, Hebe spent ages...
Today I started ringing round a few vets to see who will test Hebe to see if she needs vaccinating this year. What a rigmarole :(
Some of the vets hadn't heard of it, those that had, said they'd never been asked to do it.
So far one vet has rung me back with a price for the taking of blood +...
Nosey Kevin from next door but one loves to sunbathe on the trailer in our front garden. the dogs are not so keen on him being there but he couldn't care less what they think :p
Cheeky boy :)
I got the dogs a toy a while ago, they love it, it's made of a sort of towelling stuff & it's been chucked around & generally roughed up for over a year. It's been washed loads too.
It had a tiny little hole in it which Hebe nibbled at and started to pull the stuffing out so I decided to be all...
This morning I met my friend in the park as usual to walk our dogs. We were just talking to another dogwalker when a car came along behind us. Now our local park is the HQ for the council so there is a fair amount of traffic but they always have hazards on & go really really slowly. But this guy...
