Great fun yet again. Ted was totally worn out.
Poor light and handling Ted myself lead to only a few pictures this time. They can be seen at http://picasaweb.google.co.uk/garethevans7
Hi all,
Got my (now very numb!) finger out and processed all the photos I took yesterday at Stapeley.
Because of the poor light I had to run at a fairly high ISO setting to get a decent shutter speed, hence some of the pics are a bit grainy and not as sharp as I'd like. Still, some nice pics...
No problems with memories. He was a lovely dog, perhaps that ONE of your life, and we think about him every day. His ashes are under a tree on our walk route, so it's hard not to!
Glad you like the site. It's a measure of the kind of dog Ali was that we still receive comments and mail like...
It was a good morning, especially for the dogs who had a lot of fun.
Hopefully Sarah will come next time, and handle Ted so I can concentrate on the camera. Thanks to those who held Ted so I could go up the run a bit. Maybe I should bring my bag hide next time and get really close! (w00t) ;)...
This was the second meeting at Stapeley, a great morning again, and Ted seems to be really getting the hang of it.
Thanks to Jan and Linda and Gary and everyone else involved. Sorry if I missed any dogs, we should be able to get them on another day.
Coursing pics
Nice pics. That little black whippet was killing me, he kept sticking his nose right in Ted's ear and tickling away.
I love the one in your sig, really good!
Yes, we are really looking forward to it too. Hopefully I can persuade Sarah to come and spend a bit more time helping out and taking photos.
We'll be away the weekend after this one, then free again.
Gareth
I took Ted for his first go at lure coursing at the weekend. He seemed to know what to do, was pretty well behaved, and was totally worn out after it. Not many pictures as the weather was very dull and rather wet, plus I wanted to concentrate on Ted and learning the ropes of coursing. I'll get...
For some reason I have just had a burst of e-mails about the replies to this thread long after they were posted! We'd love to come over to Stapeley way when the sheep are finished lambing.
Thanks (belated!) for all the replies.
Gareth
Hi all,
My first post here! After the death of my not so keen lurcher Ali last year we adopted Ted the longdog (deerhound / greyhound / saluki I am told) He is as keen as mustard, and I'd like to have go at lure coursing with him. He's not brilliantly socialised yet but plays well with the...
