I don't think that Ecollars sound "to good to be true." Especially after having seen the results thousands of times. I think they're just another tool used to help train a dog.
There aren't any miracles in dog training no matter what tool is used and I've not seen anyone say anything to the...
Many people use the tool only in a punishment mode. That's quite limiting as to what they can be used for and it's given people the idea that's the only way they can be used.
When used in this fashion for "stock worrying" it's usually used at fairly high levels of stim. When this is the case...
Hi Tony. I was hoping that a moderator/owner would drop in here. My website has about 40,000 words about how to use an Ecollar and a couple of sentences stating that I sell them. I hardly consider that to be a commercial website. . If it was a commercial site people would be able to go to a...
Fine by me. I have heard this same sort of statement many times.
Once it was from a woman in Northern California named Laura Rathe. She was a SAR dog worker who had trained two dogs with so-called all positive methods and made the same sort of comment. Then she got Charley.
Here's what she...
Your post is typical of those who oppose them. Why else would you attack me for "not being impartial?" But I've not said anything about which way that you lean. I've made no presumptions. Rather, you've presumed that I have.
OK.
You're the one who posted, " ROFLMAO!" when I pointed out...
Thanks BeeJay. I've only been an Ecollar dealer for about 5 years. What was my motivation for writing about them then? Hmm, could it be that I happen to think that they're excellent tools and make training a dog much easier? Lol.
What makes someone a "macho" trainer? And what makes someone...
I didn't realize that it was humorous for me to sell Ecollars. It's certainly never been a secret.
I've been using and advocating Ecollars for nearly 20 years. I've been selling them for only a few. I wrote virtually the same posts now as before I became a dealer. My discounts are quite...
I have no idea as to what you find so humorous. but in any case . . .
There are a couple of stories in this thread about dogs whose lives have been saved by the Ecollar. Here's another one.
Here is a story about a severely fearful aggressive German Shepherd Dog (GSD) that belongs to Jen...
No need to quote anything I said. But it would have been polite to have answered my questions.
Nothing has been manipulated. If you disagree you're free to show us where that's happened.
I don't recall asking you for any "justification." I did ask a few questions that you've chosen not to...
I don't see any "commercial advertising" at all but it sure is getting personal. Those people who oppose the use of Ecollars rarely are able to keep their cool when the topic comes up. Granted, for many it is an emotional topic but still, there's no excuse for the kind of personal attacks and...
I'm not sure which "two" you are referring to because there's quite a few people involved; but if you're a moderator and have this opinion then simply remove the "two" that you think don't belong. If you're not a moderator you're just being rude and making a personal attack which is very common...
Brenda why do you think that Ecollars should be banned? BTW polls such as this may make you feel good but they're a waste of time. They're similar to those emails that fly around the Internet promising that Bill Gates is going to share his billions with you if only you'll forward the email to...
I've developed a protocol that allows people to use the Ecollar to stop undesired game chasing. It has the dog doing the work and not chasing, therefore no recall is needed. But it's not for people who occasionally want their dogs to chase game.

If would seem to me that if we were "both" trying to belittle others (which is not true) then you wouldn't want to answer the questions. Lol.
But in any case, it's foolish of you to lump Denis and I together. We're not the same and we don't do the same things.
No one is being...

Earlier Mattie wrote,
And I responded
If the measurements aren't made properly the dog can escape.
And it they're not adjusted properly the dog can escape.
I think that logically this is an impossible statement to make. If this were to happen it's not going to make...
I was told that they (especially dogs that had been raced) were impossible to train to recall. Here's the reasoning I was given; on the track they run in a circle ending up where they started and their "prey" has disappeared. Then the handlers just call them over, put them on leashes and...
Earlier I wrote,
Yes, in that situation, which is quite limited, "nobody should be opening the gate. But it can still happen. And when it does if a dog does not have a good recall he's gone.
And if they're not adjusted properly the dog can escape from them.
None of these things obviate the...
It works except when the behavior is self-rewarding and then it doesn't work at all. Even when it does work it may take more time than people are willing to spend. This whole wave of anti-punishment sentiment that seems to be so common there is, I think bad, for the dogs in the long run.
It...
Sometimes property lines change overnight and it takes a long time for hedges to grow well enough so that they will keep stock in. And they require much more care than an Efence.
The handler is the one that's in charge of the dog, not the other way round. If the dog doesn't want to get...
I think it's important for dogs to obey commands for several reasons. One is that if they don't, they learn that they can do as they please anytime they're off leash. It only takes a few times disobeying for a dog to realize that he doesn't have to. If he's headed towards a busy road when he...
