If it was a harris hawk then it was either lost or there was a falconer nearby. Also the bird may of seemed to fly at you when what it was really doing was taking off and flying with the wind. :)
20 years or more ago , a sighthound cross i.e saluki x greyhound would have been called a longdog , a collie x greyhound a lurcher, beddie whippet a lurcher etc. times change.
Whether times change or not a sighthound x sighthound is still a longdog always has been always will be.
