I use pumpkin puree for my pups and older dogs; they love it. I would give about 5th of total food you are giving him. Measured by scoops or what ever, and on top of that put nice dollop of natural yogurt. Both yogurt and the pumpkin will stabilize his digestion; there is not amount that...
My dog (exported to Europe) sired this litter of 11. http://thewhippetarchives.net/details.php?id=143292
My bitches usually havd 6-7, which is a nice number. One litter had only 4, and that was the most enjoyable litter I had ever :) I was able to have them all running around the house by...
I do not think people are saying you are irresponsible; maybe just little naive. Bitch in season and 2 male dogs all in one room is not a good idea. The bitch needs to be left in peace, not being pestered by the dogs, which they will do, constantly. The 2 dogs are very likely to have a fight...
Samples from male are not difficult - wire coat hanger made into a long handle and jam jar, and you just take him out to the nearest lamppost and collect :)
I have never heard of dogs urinating while asleep, except when very old and incontinent. You would not see any sign of bladder...
yes, yelping and walking away ends the game if the puppy gets too rough is the best method. You can play bit more roughly with stuffed toy in your hand, but the moment he bites you stop the game. He must learn that biting people is not on, or he may playfully bite a person in the park.
Here in Australia we have number of top show dogs being shown with dew claws.
When you say nose pigment, are you talking about the pink spots? Most pups that have white around their nose will be born with lot of pink on their nose, but it should fill in by the time they are couple of months...
All good advice above. :) Crate is a good way to go.
My daughter has an old Chihuahua Lily who is fine with the Whippets when they are quiet, but when they run around or when we have pups, she hates them. When Lily comes to stay with us I make sure she has places to hide; I have a cat...
No problem :) it did not help that I clicked 2x on the grandfather link instead of looking at the grandmother. I have updated her the pedigree. Oakside Ring of Fire
The grandparents are very oldfashioned Australian types, they are lot finer than present Whippets who have lot more heavy...
Sorry, but no you do not have her full pedigree up above :) the grandsire link goes to Oakside Blue Boy who is your girl's brother, and I only just realised the other link does go to the grandmother, so I fixed that in TWA.
Yes, Queensland KC is bit different from the other states, which require people to be financial members before they can have a dog on main register in their name :)
If you tell me who are the parents of Floyd, I will put it for you on TWA. I entered your girl Oakside Ring of Fire.
Only if you travel somewhere hundreds of miles into country :) City shows are quite competative; I have never been to a show that we were the only Whippet there. Usually the Whippet entry is about 30, while out annual specialty has been getting around 200 entries.
However, to show anywhere...
Please, do not give up on looking for a Whippet, maybe contact some breeders in your area, somebody may know of a dog they bred who is looking for a new home. Visit some other dog forums, or facebook. There are always older dogs coming up for adoption.
It is one thing to be selective about...
