??? Ian, Is the show at Spennymoor Leisure Centre? I haven't got a schedule so I can't remember. Pedro says there are a few in Co. Durham. If you give me the venue, we can see which one is nearest and then Pedro will give them a ring and see if they will allow the dogs.

:D Yes please Mark that would be great. I certainly agree that it's the people that make the difference and what a lovely group of enthusiasts they are.

Thanks for the dates for the rest of the season Mark and I have printed off the course layout that you provided. If it's ok with you I will use it on the Discover Dogs stand. I think the coursing section is taking on a life of it's own.
Jax, I can only recommend that you go. It took us 2½...
:( Sorry Mark, we can't make the next meet but please let me know dates for future meets. I agree it would be a brilliant idea if a number of Iggies entered. I shall have to see if I can get anyone interested.
:D :D :D For the first time we have been to a lure coursing meeting today, run by Mark Roberts of Parkstone Whippets. What a fantastic afternoons sport we had and all done in a very very friendly atmosphere.
We took our 3 and 2½ year old Whippets, BJ and Asharna, and our 2 Italian...
This is a question that has been asked over many years and I'm sure will continue to be asked in years to come.
I have a Whippet at the taller end of the scale and also some at the shorter end of the scale. Some lines tend to throw taller specimens than others and sometimes, they're just like...
Ian, I will ask Pedro if there is a travel inn near there when he comes home from work tomorrow.
We are not going ourselves as we are at Discover Dogs that weekend.
Hi, just thought I'd chip in with what works for us. Whenever any of our dogs have injuries which tear the skin, like most of the other contributors I let fresh air get to it at the right time. In addition, I also use Aloe Vera Gel on the wound. It's healing properties are great and leaves...
Does anyone have any photos of lure coursing that they could lend to me to use on the Whippet Breed Stand at Discover Dogs in November. I put out a plea on the Whippet Showing section but so far have had no luck with coursing pictures. If anyone has any they could email them to me. Ideally...
Wendy I got your photo's. They are just what I was looking for. They are now enlarged to A4 and captioned. Have also had some brilliant "At Rest" pictures from Aslan Whippets in Australia which are equally as good, especially the one with the empty glass and liquor bottle!
Many thanks Jan
Hi, Pipa we have a number of judges in England called Hill. It would be helpful if you knew his forename and kennel name. Is he a breed specialist or an all rounder?
Sorry Joe, my answer's the same as Dawns', er no. but will be there on Thursday and Saturday making sure my schedules for Ashfield (Notts) Canine Society are being distributed.
:D :D Hi Wendy I did email you but not sure if you received it. I would love to use your pictures and you will be credited on the stand for your contribution. The same applies to anyone else who would like to participate in this way.
I look forward to receiving them.
Many thanks Jan Fiers
:D I am in the process of designing a stand for the Discover Dogs exhibition in London in November. If anyone has any pictures of Whippets at play, when racing or lure coursing or doing agility or obedience that they would be willing to lend me, I would be very grateful. You could either...
Do you mean you want her hocks to be straight or do you mean that you want her hind legs to show her bend of stifle on her hind legs? The bend of stifle is where her musclature ends on her hind legs running towards the point of hock and is curved when stood with hocks perpendicular to the...
There is a magazine dedicated solely to Whippets, which is published by the Whippet Club (I think). Funnily enough it is called The Whippet and I think there used to be/still is one called Whippet Times. If you contact the Secretary of the Whippet Club, they will be able to tell you...
:) But of course.
Karolynne says that I will have him in Junior Handling before he can walk! Older brother Adam is already a whizz with our Italians, especially at best 6 legs!
:D :D :D We are pleased to announce that Lokeren Be Ernie has had a very successful debut. Last night he went BPIS at Loughborough CS Limit Show and today achieved Best Whippet Puppy and Puppy Group 2 at Stafford. 24 hours of lovely pleasant happenings as our second Grandson, Clayton Jack...
