Did the lounging yesterday (it's looking like my dehydration and tiredness may be viral as my husband seems to now be suffering too), and took H and the hound to the park to play on her new skateboard. Of course she wanted to take her bike on the skate park too instead of sticking to the baby...
Does anybody have any experience of junior handling?
H has always been very keen on handling and training 'her' dog, so I'm wondering if now is the time to get the pair of them along to ringcraft classes
A friend who breeds wolfhounds wants her to handle one of her dogs
Oddly enough, friends call me Strix :)
I'm mum to a beagle called Brude, and a 2yr old daughter, and wife to a wonderfully patient man
I was born 42 years ago in Liverpool, but currently live in Sheffield
Before I became a mum I fostered problem dogs for a local rescue centre, who sent me on...
How well does your dog communicate?
Brude has always been very expressive and creative where communication is concerned...
... today's gem: having failed to persuade me to feed him an hour early, just to make sure I'd understood the point he was trying to make... he presented me with H's bib...
Beagles are particularly cute puppies :D
I really don't fancy doing the whole puppy thing again. Older ones are so much easier to train (once you've done it before)
Thanks Jenny
I did have another look at the website, but eliona little madam was the dam of the litter we saw... eleven years ago now, so I wasn't sure they were 'current'
I shouldn't have looked. The front page has a dog in the background who looks so like Brude that my husband thought it WAS...
off topic I know, but does Jill still have whippets herself?
When we collected Brude there was a kennel full of round shaped beagles, and a rather surreal pen of bouncy, pointy whippets at the far end :)
hmmm, most used - beagle welfare shopping bags
Favourite accessory - dog lead! but it is a particularly nice hand made leather one (and I do have a new Radley bag, awaiting leather protector)
Household decor item... stainless steel silhouette beagle doglead hook with Brude's name cut out
well I won't pull you down. I agree with you, from one direction - if you as an experienced dog owner/handler/trainer winds up with a dog who behaves like this, having been treated like all the rest who don't behave this way, then yep, the dog is the problem
I've fostered problem dogs for...
I'm going to have to mull it over a bit, but we're watching 'the fox and the hound' which H got for Christmas. I've never seen it before!
So what are your favourite dog films and why?
