Zebidee had a serious car sickness problem as a pup. He always travelled in a crate but the sickness stopped as soon as we put a large soft cushion on the base of the crate. Might have been a coincidence or it might have damped out the sickness-inducing motion.
We've just come back from staying in a lighthouse keepers cottage - right on the beach - great for dogs. It was rented from the National Trust for Scotland on the Moray coast but I'm sure that the holidays department of the English National Trust can do the same sort of thing on the South coast.
Had Zebidee checked out by the vet today. He says that young whippets (Zeb is 10 months old) will run themselves into the ground if you let them. There's nothing wrong with his heart or lungs and the vet reckons that his disinclation to walk after his run was due to a build up of lactic acid in...
Thanks to all who replied. We've just spent a week on the Moray coast where Zebidee was taunting slower dogs into kamikaze races on the beaches and I noticed that a few degrees difference in temperature could have a major effect on his condition afterwards. (He also developed a crab diet -...
I'm fortunate enough to live in a rural location where there are large wooded areas where Zebidee, my 10 month whippet, can indulge his passion for vanishing at high speed and returning, also at high speed, some 10 to 20 minutes later. Today, however, was a little different. The temperature was...
4 month old Zebidee is sick after any car journey exceeding 20 minutes. The books say that he should grow out if but, at his age, he needs all the nourishment that he can get. I've tried not feeding him for about 4 hours before the trip but he's still sick. Help
Zebidee goes to Yvonne McWilliam's puppy classes in Banchory (Town Hall, Tuesdays, 6.30 -7.30 pm). His tail was going like a windscreen wiper for the whole hour.

I live in Aberdeenshire and I've been looking for a whippet puppy for around three months without much success. There must be a breeder within striking distance who has a litter but I haven't found her/him yet. Is there anyone out there?
