We went away in Easter to a place near Tavistock (Gunnislake) which was booked online through a company called Blue Chip Vacations - they have a specific list of properties that will let you take your dogs and even better news is that dogs go free (there are sometimes restrictions on numbers though so best to check).. we stayed at a place called honicombe manor and there is loads of places where you can take the dogs along with lots of pet friendly beaches in the area (and loads of the pubs too....)sarahloveland said:Want to go away for fews days break in Aug with dogs...any ideas would be welcome.South of England preferrably but dont mind travelling a bit.

We have booked a different holiday in Sept - also in Cornwall but with a different company (Welcome Cottages) - same theory though, dogs go free! Havent used them before so will feed back after we have been...
Both of these companies cover the whole of the UK and welcome also cover Ireland (including ferry crossings)
Hi just been on website and it looks fabulous! Rang them but all they have left is 1st.week in Sept but I have a child starting secondary school and they are very strict at time off. What a shame,it would have been perfect. Will book it for next year though. Thanks for tip :cheers:kierpark said:HiWe stay at

You can take as many dogs as you like and they have some great walks near by.

Hi,
there is a place in Cornwall called Tolcarne Cottage, it is fantastic. There have an enclose garden right in from of the chalet and than a big enclosed field next to it that you are allowed to use. You can take as many dogs as you like but there is a small charge. I went at Easter and are now going back in August for 2 weeks with 4 whippets because I know that I can totally relax and know that my dogs are safe and secure.
You can find then on WWW.cornwall-online.co.uk/tolcarneselfcateringholidays/welcome.html.
I hope this is of help to you
Jenny
