Thank you! I was thinking maybe omega 3 oil to see if that might improve it. His general health is fine, and his skin is healthy, so may just be a brown hue
Thanks judy, not particularly, the lower part of his back is a lot coarser, but I have found that happens with other dogs, but the rest of his coat is nice and healthy:rolleyes: must be in the genes!
Hiya!
Does anyone know any reasons as to why my black dog has a brown undertone?
I have researched far and wide. I have read it could be the sun bleaching, however even now in winter he still has a brown tinge, I brush him everyday to get rid of dead fur (he has part doodle in him). He always...
Haha! Love that quote, it's very true!
But yes always aim for reward based wherever absolutely possible. You'll also eventuallt find the correct tool for your dog, every dog is different and requires a different type of tool that's works for them and you.
Wish you the best of luck with your...
Yes, I think everyone has their own way of training, just as everyone is saying harnesses dont dont teach dogs to pull, so this is just what I've been taught by my trainer of what is best and has worked really well for me:)
So I use the brand 'ancol' slip lead which is really good at keeping it...
I wouldn't particularly use a slip lead on a very young puppy, I think any sensible trainer would say the same, I think from around 16 weeks you could start, but I do feel they were more effective in teaching loose lead with, like you said to Judy, just small gentle flicks. The stop start method...
Hey, making sure puppy has regular naps is really crucial, tiredness can be a main cause of puppy biting, unsure if you use crates but I know people who use small pens to place puppies in aswell when they're over tired to have a nap. Also using a lead indoors I find was helpful! Just to give...
Hiya, I use slip leads, my trainer showed me the correct way to use one without causing damage or harm. But I definitely would learn how to use it properly otherwise harm could definitely be caused, but that is with any tool: harness, flat collar and lead. I find the slip lead is easiest to...
Do you use crates? Sometimes a crate or a make shift den can help them feel secure and allows them a safe, quiet place to go when things feel like too much.
Raw diet all the way! 10x better skin, coat, health, teeth, life span! Never too late to change and you will not regret it.
Also, completely natural and better than pumping your dog with chemicals:)
It is an excellent source of fibre and cleanses the intestines so can help to rid of parasite eggs! My behaviourist had told me about it. Never worm my dog, I just do worm count once every 3 months to make sure and he has, so far, never contracted them! :)
I just wanted to add that animal hair and sunflower seeds are great natural wormers! I give my dog rabbits ears/lambs ear once of twice a week and add crushed seeds to his dinner :)
Hi there,
Just seeing if anyone has any natural remedies to prevent lungworm or heartworm etc. Currently using the advocate but I am looking to switch to everything with less chemicals. Thanks!
Hi there,
I had picked up my cockerpoo pup when he was 10 months old, that was 5 months ago. I didn't get him off a breeder, I bought him from a family home who were moving to a smaller place. So just wanted to maybe give you my experience as they're at such similar ages.
Freddie had extreme...
Hiya, I've just started to transition my dog to raw food however I feel as though his poos are a little more solid now and are coming out in little rocks, and almost like he's struggling sometimes. I think this has to do with not enough fibre. Could someone tell me how I can get more fibre into...
