have started thinking about entering Eskil for a show. he will turn 6 months on the 27th of November. are there any suitable puppy class shows in december/january? preferably in the south east, poss midlands.

Hi Noise & Welcome .. :D

Most Open & Championship shows will have suitable puppy classes , the best thing to do is to get hold of a copy of 'Dog World' or 'Our Dogs' ( your news agent will be able to order them for you) . They are weekly papers aimed mainly at the show world & give details off all up coming shows , where they are , who's judging , when the entries close etc ....

Also , I don't know if you've shown before but it may be worth taking your puppy to ringcraft classes ..... it helps pup to socialise with other dogs , also teaches you how to Stand, Move your dog in the showring . I'm not sure about classes in your area , but there will be plenty of people on here that will ...

You may like to check out another forum ...

www.thewhippetforum.com

go to 'Whippets at show' and there is a pinned thread for details on 'Ringcraft Clubs' ... I'm sure someone will be able to help you :luck: :luck:

Good luck with showing your puppy ..

hello :))

had a look at one of the papers but found it all a bit confusing, basically didn't know where to look  the listings on the KC - site equally confusing...

haven't yet been to a ringcraft class, probably will go next week, but have been practising him at home, he's not too bad lol

Potteries and district open show is on 14th december at staffordshire show ground. The entries close on november 14th.

Thats the only one I have at the moment for dec.

Take a look on here www.prodogs.co.uk a list of loads of Open shows

ok, I think I will enter the Potteries and district show. couple of questions.

entry form - think I've found it - is this the right one? entry form

and where do I find out how much does the entry cost and how do I pay it?

That form would do I can't really see it or you could phone the secretary mr d fletcher 01782 550093 and ask for himto send you a schedule. You pay by sending him a cheque and the entry form but take it to the post office and ask for proof of posting just in case they get lost in the post.

Entries are £4 for the first class and £1 for any class after that with the same dog..I f he is only 6 months in november he could go in av minor puppy and puppy dog at the end of the day although this makes it a long day for young pups.

thanks, will do. minor puppy and puppy dog are then seperate classes? when is the entry deadline?
