My Dylan is around 2.5years old now and he has suddenly got on each front shoulder what appear to be very thinning areas to his fur. When he curls up and does the swan thing - where they almost turn their heads back on themselves - the patches seem to be exactly where his chin would rest whilst in this position. They don't appear to bother him. There is no redness etc. Does anyone have experience of this? Thanks.. Anne

My Ros has this and I've just put it down to his coat rubbing a bit. Obviously he wears his coat everytime we go out and although it's not too small, it may rub while he's walking. I just assumed it will go away when we get warm weather and he doesn't need his coat anymore :) Is your whippet dark? Ros is black so I think this is why it shows up on him and not on Grover.
