 Oh Dawn I thought I'll go there until I saw the organiser, just think I'll give it (or rather him) a wide berth, it's enough once a year at Driffield. And for those of you that don't know, don't ask!!!!!!!

JAN , I thought EXACTLY the same (w00t) :)   . I always have to be in a hurry to`go somewhere `when I see him at Driffield. Glad its just not me :- "

:sweating: We could give him the benefit of the doubt though as he has got himself a lady in tow now and she seems to be able to keep him under control. This was at Driffield last year, but then again she might have chucked him, so I still think I'll still steer clear.

It's a shame because he IS a good dog man and can recite pedigrees from way back and in lots of different breeds. Can't think of any other redeeming feature though. Bless him.

Just trying to think of who he is ... is he a round-ish sort of chap, did he have some sort of connection with Pyreneans (sp)?

what exactly is a "Comapnion dog show" and how does it compare with other types of dog show?

The only connection with Pyreneans (?sp) is shape, size and movement. :D

Lez is about 5'6", weight about 20stone, something of a 'character' and he breeds Min Pins

A companion show is what used to be an exemption shows. A bit of fun and training for your dogs. Entries are open to ALL pedigree dogs except CC RCC & JW winners. Alos numerous 'novelty' classes such as Waggiest Tail, Best Rescue, Best condition etc.

Usually you enjoy show without any pressure and there are MUCH better prizes than ANY of the Ch shows. :D

He does sound like the bloke I'm thinking of ... I think the reason why I seem to have thought up some sort of connection with him and Pyrreneans (still can't spell it!!) is the mutual friend he (if he is who I'm thinking of) and I share, use to have Pyrries herself and we were all talking at a Ch show last year (but not necessarily about Pyrreneans!).

Hmmmmmmmmmm I will have to get my thinking cap on!

Right! I've got it sorted out - he ISN'T the bloke I'm thinking of (but he sounds the same shape and size!!!).

Have checked with my friend ... but had better not give the man's name (to spare his blushes, obviously).

;)

Go on, all go, and all come on to him all at the same time, totally overwhelm the guy. I bet he will run a mile. Or perhaps run would be a poor word choice judging by your discription. :b

Hav'nt got a clue who he is but if hes good with his pedigrees hes a good bloke.

 No our Les would mop it all up and then tell everybody how he was even more gods gift. Description of him is very good except no one mentioned the booming voice, Farmer Giles mannerisms etc etc. If he were computer literate he'd be in 7th heaven knowing that we are talking about him and thinking that he is now a famous personalilty in the dog world!

There is no way you could overwhelm this guy :b . I`ve learnt to do a lovely side step diversion when Isee him heading my way :- "

Blimey Jax if you're side stepping mate then it must be bad (w00t) I mean that in the nicest possible way

 Do you remember the film, Moses, which starred Charlton Heston (ok ok I'm going back a bit here before either Jax or Dawn gets a word in) when he parted the Red Sea. Well that's what happens when people see our chap approaching, the waves of people suddenly split whilst he goes through, cos everybody knows they'll be stuck for ages, and then just as suddenly the crowd comes back together.

:teehee: Anyway got a better offer in our local paper which is Ferret Racing and a Family (Companion?) Dog Show on Saturday and is within walking distance of my house, so I'll take Toby, the rescue dog ( who by the way is looking a treat), Jack and Charlie, the Italians and Lol. ;) BJ can stay at home recovering from his injury with the girls, which I'm sure he'll enjoy very much.
