poor lamb sounds confused to me B.J!

William is 2 1/5 years and will only cock his leg if he has something to rest his foot on otherwise he just wees as he is standing Toby on the otherhand has been cocking his leg since he was 8 weeks

My mum once had a lab cross who was castrated and never cocked his leg or marked territory he lived with 2 bitches and it ws thought to be because he never had a male to show him what to do

When we first got Mij, my other cavalier, when zak would cock his leg to wee mij would stand under him. Constantly we'd have to clean him when he came up. (w00t)

Ok, when I was in the states.  Just before I left I was speaking to a friend of mine.  She said that she had been told by a friend of hers that if her dog had never lifted his leg before he was castrated, that after he was castrated he would never lift his leg.  The amount of time I have been working with dogs I've never heard anything like that before.  And I have never had my dogs castrated.  Could someone please answer this question for me?
Only just seen this thread. I do remember reading that the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association always castrated dogs early to prevent them from cocking their legs and feeling the need to mark a lot, and therefore enable them to concentrate on their work! ;)
