Can anyone let me know if there's any racing or lure coursing in the north west of england (manchester, chester, liverpool area) where a none-pedigree whippet can go for a look round to see if he likes the idea? - with the view of getting involved in the future.

Thanks

Hi Curly, the nearest track would be the 'Gin pit' which is Astly Miners w.r.c.

It's 40 minutes from Liverpool and we race & trial on a wednesday evening

starting around 6-30 p.m. If you have a dog?, you are welcome to bring it and trial it if you want. There'll be plenty of people there to advise you and answer any queries you may have. If you are interested?, let me know and I'll email you the directions. Cheers Mick.

Hi Mick,

I have a dog, I think he's a whippet/staff cross (don't know for sure, got him from a rescue centre) which means he's fast but has loads of stamina (and a real cheeky personality!!)

If you could mail me the directions that would be great, I look forward to seeing you there, and especially look forward to seeing him run.

thanks

Hi Curly, I don't know where your starting out from, but if you get onto the East Lancs rd. go past Haydock , then past Goldbourne Island, then past the Greyhound pub.two miles or so after the Greyhound pub, you will come to an Astley sign (left) at a set of traffic lights, turn left there into Higher Green Lane. After about 400 yds you have to go left. go to the first island and stay left. Go to the 2nd island(mini)

and turn right.this is Pinces rd. 3rd on the left is Ley rd.turn left there and the club is at the top of the Rd. Go into the car park and you'll see a 'dirt' rd. on the right of the pub. follow that and your there. See you Wednesday.Cheers Mick
