My old whippet has torn a muscle it has been just over a week ago.. Is the damage to her leg repairable? The vet put her leg in plaster she has got to have it for 4 weeks and she is now finding it hard to walk. PLEASE MAY YOU GIVE ADVICE?

when one of ours tore a muscle we were advised to massage it daily with a rub (such as trainers choice) in the direction of the muscle ie down the leg to encourage the blood flow and heal the muscle, my bitch was back racing within 4wks, but it was only a minor tear. Major tears often need stitching but dogs make a full recovery and many i know hav raced again and still win at open level

hope this helps and hope your girl gets better soon xx :huggles: :luck:

she is not a racing whippet, she was a show whippet, she is the one that got us racing :) she has to go back to the vets tomorrow because she is pain :( , the vet is going to take the plaster off to have a look, fingers crossed it is not bad new :( will let you all know tomorrow how she gets on,
