I know eveyone on here always seem to have the answers so thought I'd ask here first... We are wanting to go away in June as forfeited our summer holidays last year for two lovely puppies and was wondering if anyone knows of a good boarding kennel/ doggie hotel in or around the Bristol /south glos/ somerset area that they have used. I think my parents will probably end up looking after our two boys but just incase they can't, wanted a back up plan and to find a really nice place to leave them safely,

:b I don't know if it is just me being silly but I am really not sure if this is the best thing to do and feel really mean about leaving them. I am sure everyone still has holidays...as well as their beautiful whippies.....don't they?

Wondering the same myself - as we havnt been away since we got Oscar ad Kobi.

Chip our old dog would gladly go to mother-in-laws and behave himself perfectly but I think 2 younger whippets would certainly be more of a handful, too much for an 80 year old lady.

Cancelled our Irish trip at Xmas this year because we hadnt put the dogs into kennels yet :( but will have to start checking them out (or pet sitters) so that we can have a holiday.

Last year we went to Ibiza but we had sadly lost Chip :( and hadnt got Oscar then, so will have to start making plans if we do want to go away, or Yes Lesley buy a Caravan or Motorhome.

I know someone who privately boarded their greyhound for a week. She left him with a woman who lives quite locally to me and often takes in dogs for holidays.

I'd need to go and ask the greyhound owner for the contact details, though. I know she was very happy with the care he (greyhound) recieved, and the person who looked after him even brought him across to the Common during the week for his regular walk with dog-friends

I'll get back to you, Becky, but it might be after school term starts again.

We to have a caravan and ALL the dogs come away with us, we went to cornwall for 4 weeks last summer and they loved it, dont think id trust anyone enough with my dogs.

i've not had a proper holiday for about 12 years  keep saving up my penny's then summat comes along (usually a vet bill) and it's off again till next year :(

then there is the worry of trusting someone to look after/cope with my 5

actually i think this caravan idea might be worth looking into

My brother used to come and live in my house when we just had Chip - but I also have rabbits to feed, a chinchilla, 3 tanks of fish, a hamster and 3 Cats (w00t) (w00t) and now TWO whippets as well as

My brother now has a partner and lives away - so Im at a loss for a 'pet-sitter'

my mam and dad would manage the small furries :- " :- " but not everything at once.

and heres me I pet -sit for other people too - I havnt got time for a holiday.
